Thanks to ablackshear for this beer!

375ml bottle sealed with pressure cap and silver wax.

vintage 2013 / batch 2.

poured into crooked stave tulip glass.

Appearance: translucent pale yellow bodied beer with a full finger of white head that drops down to thin uneven cap.

Smell: sour lemons and vinegar. wheat malts and mild funk. smells bright and clean.

Taste: lemons and tropical fruit notes start this one off. A mild, almost a moderate pucker factor from this beer. Lots of yogurty/cheesy notes in the middle of the beer. Oaky and earthy. Mild dusty funk. It reminds me of a berliner weisse beer in the flavor profile.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with low carbonation levels. Creamy and bright mouthfeel. Clean finish that is slightly dry. Very drinkable beer! This beer drinks well below its listed abv of 6%.

Overall: This is a really nice offering from crooked stave! Its not quite a full on sour; it really reminds me alot of a high end berliner wiesse beer.

2013, batch 2. Poured from 375 mL bottle into a tulip glass. Head dissipates quickly, it's a clear golden color, a hint darker than a sparkling wine and more like a hard cider.

Nice funk and tarty smell.

Tastes of Brett funk and a firm acidic tart. Hops are not standing out as much after the barrel-aging which gives it a great smooth taste. Tastes exactly like a sour Belgian blonde should.

Great light body makes it easy to drink and only a small amount of carbonation. Excellent balance.

Overall this isn't my favorite from CS, but another solid sour. I'll continue to buy anything from them.

Batch 2 served into a tulip

A-vibrant golden straw color with wisps of white head, no lacing.

S-bready malts and barnyard Brett notes predominate

T-the first taste I get a distinct buttery aftertaste that is none too pleasant, but as it warms there is less butter and more biscuit, lemony funk up front with a bit of green apple. Not very sour.

M-not that much carbonation and on the thin side

O-I had high hopes for this, but wonder if age would do well for this one. If you have this batch you may want to wait until summer to crack it.

A - Golden with a light haze and a small white head

S - Tart lemon, light blue cheese funk, and tart vinegar that gives it a good balance of tart and funk 4.5

T - Green apple, lemon peel, white vinegar and light oak. Reminds me a bit of a sour apple juice. Light blue cheese funk near the backend that balances the tartness 4.25

M - Not much carbonation but has a tart bite from the vinegar and tartness. Finish has a light tingle near the end.

O - Tart and lightly funked sour that has a nice apple presence balanced with a slight blue cheese funk

A: The beer is slightly hazy pale yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that left lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sourness are present in the nose—similar to what you would expect from a gueuze.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has stronger flavors of sourness with notes of oak from the barrel aging.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite sour but in no way does the sourness completely overwhelm your palate.
