Poured into a Duvel tulip.
Pours a cloudy, but very vibrant apricot. A bright white, 2 finger head quickly forms and fizzles away fairly quickly, leaving little lacing behind. The gorgeous body makes up for what is lacking in head retention.
Wow, as soon as you raise the glass to your nose, you're immediately struck by tart lemon juice and faint cherry juice. These tart, vinous aroma are draped in a blanket of Tropical brettanomyces funk; mostly pineapple, damp hay and a general mustiness. Beneath this coating of Brett, are some traditional Saison notes of green pear and white pepper. As a the beer warms, a soft, cracker like malt base becomes apparent. Very refreshing nose.
As soon as the beer enters your mouth, you're struck by a blast of tart citrus; predominately fresh squeezed lemon juice. As soon as the tartness starts to encroach past being merely tart, you're greeted by some lovely peppery tones as well as some light pear. These traditional Saison yeast characteristics gracefully
evolved into some barnyard-y Brettanomyces character. This musty, but oddly fruity Brett sustains up until the very dry, tart finish. The finish leaves on your palate long lingering notes of bitter grapefruit juice, white pepper, musty earth soft breads and a light woodsiness.
Light to moderate body with high carbonation. Refreshing.
A very intense Saison to say the least. The level of tartness really pushes the boundaries of a Saison, but still retains enough of the trademark Saison spiciness to stay within the style's guidelines. The mature and developed Brettanomyces character really adds some nice contrast to the tart, lactic acidity of this beer. Highly recommended.

Pours a clear, gold color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of tartness, slight apple, slight pale malt, hint of sweet malt, hint of hop, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a strong tartness. Tastes of pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of hop, slight citrus, and sourness. Overall, good appearance, aroma, feel, and body.
