Poured from a bottle into a tulip

A- pours a hazy bright orange, small slightly fizzy half finger white head emerges and dissipates down to a bubbly covering, spotty to little lace

S- floral, slightly earthy brett, tart orange, wheat

T- lip smacking tart, tangerines with rind, blood orange, earthy notes brought on by the brett, floral presence subdued compared to most saisons

M- medium body, carbonation slightly high, finishes dry

O- this is my first brew from Crooked Stave and it did not disappoint, perfect for a warm summer evening, would reccomend (561 characters)

375ml capped bottle a little above fridge temp poured into a snifter. 2013/ Batch 3

Quite a gusher as soon as I popped the cap but didn't loose much as I had a glass ready. Big soapy white head off the pour, obviously lots of streaming carbonation bubbles. Head fades to a somewhat retentive layer with spotty lace. Very nice hazy straw golden color.

Big Brett nose. Stinky, musty Brett, barnyard, a touch of hay. As it warms some medicinal earthy funk. Some nice orange like citrus as well the more and more it warms and opens.

Really nice taste. Just some beginning sourness, lemon like, lingers for a bit after each sip. The orange comes in and blends with the tart citrus from the Brett. Not as much funk as the aroma, more citrus based in the taste but the funk is still definatly there, medicinal, wet hay and hints of mustiness.

Really has such a nice effervescence and mouthfeel, somewhat high amount of a very nice fine carbonation.

What's not to love, all about the Brett, complex, yet amazingly drinkable and oh so refreshing. Wish I could get this by the six pack because I would totally session it all day. A really nice take on the witbier style. (1,169 characters)

Bottle into a Crooked Stave glass

A - Hazy yellow and golden beer with a slightly cloudy aspect. A small white head to it that is a bit rocky.

S - Lemon, wheat, grassy, and a slight funk to it and it also a slight soapy aspect to it.

T - Tart lemon up front with a light lactic acid that gives it some sourness as well. There is a light grassy and blue cheese funk in there as well but it is light. The funk lingers on slightly in the finish as well as a strong lemon zest.

M - Tart carbonation up front with a zesty presence. There is a light funk that lingers on in the finish and remains thick on the tongue.

O - A tart yet slightly funky witbier from Crooked Stave that is definitely different from your normal witbier with its tart and funky presence. Refreshing and easy to drink. (791 characters)

Appearance - Very light straw yellow. head leaves quickly as well

Smell - Subtle sweetness with very little tart. Lots of pineapple

Taste - tart acidity and fruit that is quickly followed by some type of chemical

Mouth - that chemical taste does not leave

Overall - I have had CS multiple times and I finally found a chemical bomb. just horrible. I had it on tap and it was amazing, but this bottle did not age well. I will go back to Crooked Stave soon though (464 characters)
