I loved my trip to Crooked Stave. I was only in Denver for a short time and it was close to unanimous from local BAs that Crooked Stave was the place to go if you could only go to one of the many great breweries in the Denver area. After trying their beers and thinking most of them were great, I was surprised at how slow it was in the tasting room on a Saturday night. From my tourist perspective, it did not seem like the brewery was in the best Denver neighborhood, but like a lot of small breweries it was located in an industrial park with plenty of parking, which is great for someone new to the area. The tasting room had a typical set up with a small L-shaped bar and about three or four tables. I would think it would get pretty crowded, when they get busy. Both of the guys working the bar when we were there were great! They were very friendly and when we told them we were from Austin, we started sharing stories about the Austin beer and live music scenes. My only complaint was they didn't offer more variety. They had six beers on tap and three beers for sale in bottles. I wished I could have tried more of their stuff, because everything I had was good to great. I highly recommend stopping in here for any BAs visiting the Denver area.

Cool location in "The Source" - a building with this, a liquor store and two restaurants. Had the flagship offerings plus a few variants on tap. Regular pours or smaller tasters for $2 are available.

This was my first stop on my way from the airport and would do again. The beer is amazing and it is a very pleasant area to hang out for a few.

Obviously having Crooked Stave beers on tap is amazing, but the taproom itself is pretty boring and kind of small. I guess I was expecting more from these guys.
