Located inside "The Source" which is an old brick warehouse that's been converted into a kind of hipster indoor mall. There are restaurants, bars, a bakery, deli, coffee shop, liquor store, and the Crooked Stave tap house. I liked the place, and thought it was a good use for the old building.

Quality is really good. I've had a dud or two in bottles from them in the past, but the two I tried on this visit were both excellent.

Service was fine, I don't remember anything bad, good, or memorable about it.

Selection was about 14 taps, it's all pretty much sours, but most people know that coming in. They also had lots of bottles.

Must stop in Denver if you are fan of the sour/Belgian style. Plus I thought the Source itself was a pretty cool place to check out too.

Come on Chad, why are your beers at this place so expensive? It's cheaper for me to go to any liquor store on the Front Range and buy it by the bottle. I mean $12 for a 10oz glass? That's ridiculous!

You're a great brewer and I love your stuff but I might as well just pull my pants down next time I go in. Two beers and a $30 bill after tip. WTF?

You're saving on bottling and distribution costs. Beers at the brewery should be cheaper than from a liquor store.

Lucky there's plenty of hipster yuppies in Denver that can afford to drop $100 a visit I guess.

Really unique spot. Industrial meets awesome, meets farm to face type of location1

This is in an old industrial building, turned into a mall. Lots of small shops and restaurants. The building is really cool, with thick brick walls and large steel beams in the ceiling. They specialize in sour style beer and they are very good. Service was a little slow but the staff was friendly. They only offer their own beer, so the selection is pretty narrow. If you like sour beer this is well worth the time to visit.

The Source itself is a pretty neat place with many stores and restaurants in a renovated industrial looking building. Crooked Stave is all the way in the back and contained a good flowing crowd even on a release day for Nightmare on Brett. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and very nice to drink in. The bar tenders were all very attentive and friendly and you can even order food from the restaurants at the Source and have them delivered to Crooked Stave. They had about 14 taps going all some sort of sour or saison. If you are looking for big stouts or IPAs you will be out of luck but what they have chose to focus on, they do it very well.

Atmosphere - located inside trendy market place, The Source; plenty of indoor seating, no patio and gets a little crowded around the bar. Their niche is certainly sours and they are quite proud of that, with merch all over the place shouting at you that they are all about the sour beers.
Not likely a very kid friendly spot, considering the staff was blasting gangster rap.
Quality - specializing in sours, all their offerings have at least a sour take on a particular style. I've had 10 of their beers and a couple I really enjoyed and a handful were good, not great.
Service - very friendly, engaging and knowledge staff. I noticed a lot of people come in who thought they were coming into a regular craft beer bar and seemed confused by the sour selection, but the staff was cool and patient with the newbies! I don't believe I saw in families in the joint with children, so I'll give them a pass on playing 2-Pac and Snoop!
Selection - I counted 19 on tap, all with the sour twist. Given the location and the amount of people that must randomly wander in, I wonder how many walked out after seeing the all sour selection?
Value - if your a sour beer seeker, this is your place; if you're not, I would still strongly recommend coming in and sampling a few of their offerings, Vielle and Surette, in particular!

My favourite stop in Denver. The Source is an absolutely cool place and CS is at the heart of it. Vibe is cool and service is excellent. On top of that, they had around 15 different CS offerings on tap, which is more variety that you see in most breweries/brew pubs.

Only complaint is that only 1 guy was working with over 20-25 patrons. Great selection and lots of bottles to go. Over 20 taps and good prices in my opinion. A must visit for the denver are

Interesting setup with the taproom in the back of a shared commercial space, in an adaptive reused warehouse; pretty damn progressive but it fits the brewery. Servers were knowledgable, friendly and fast. Great selection of the usual, renowned suspects as well as limited (or infused and/or barrel aged) brews. Great to have choice to buy smaller individual pours. Batch 50, Hop Savant and red wine barrel Nightmare were outstanding. Lots of seating, but no patio, and the non-high-top chairs are pretty small. Also saw a schwasty guy in a Packers jacket fall over (he was fine), so lovely entertainment to boot. Very diverse crowd - good to see!
