Hazy apricot color with a giant 1-2 finger frothy white head with phenomenal retention and lacing.

Pale malt and banana peel make up the nose.

Flavor is just amazing. The epitome of what the style should taste like. Big bright banana flavor and bright fresh wheat.

Mouthfeel is light bodied. Fresh and crisp with high carbonation.

The best weizenbock I can possibly imagine.

Pours a very cloudy yellow with a large white head. Head is very solid looking. Retention is very good, fair bit of lacing.

Smell is full of banana and bubblegum. Very floral and fruity. Some spicy notes as well. Really a great smell.

Taste is also very good, and similar to the nose. Banana, bubblegum, peppery spice, wheat. Taste is really quite similar to the regular hefeweizen, just a little bigger.

True to style, the beer is highly carbonated, though the bubbles are fairly small. Despite the bubbles, it is quite a creamy beer.

Overall, a very very good beer. Overall score reflects that I was somewhere in between 4 and 4.5 taste wise. Good stuff!

A: Pours a hazey straw yellow with a sticky white head and heavy lacing.

S: Banana, Wheat, orange citrus, bready yeast and pepper with clove aroma.

T: Wow, what a full palate of flavors for such a light bodied beer. Wheat malt flavors are strong along with a white pepper bananas and clove from the yeast. Finish of this is dry and crisp, leaving me wanting for more. Banana esters are strong in the finish as well.

M: Light in body with a little stickiness. High carbonation, slightly dry.

O: This is a classic Weizenbock, no doubt about it a great weizenbock that has stood the test of time. I will absolutely revisit this at another time when I am in the mood for it.

Enjoyed in a weizen glass

A: pours a very hazy, extremely carbonated, light yellow color towards the bottom and a bit of a deeper golden color towards the top, pours with three fingers of very fine pure white head which is frothy and lingers for a long time, leaves a small bit of lacing
S: very nice peppery and lemon notes with a bready wheat scent on the back end
T: begins peppery then slides into a nice smoothness and cleanness that i really can explain, just smooth with a nice lemony note which really allows it to drink well, just tastes damn good
M: medium carbonation, kinda thick which i hadnt expected although i guess id describe it more as creamy than anything else, leaves the mouth cleanly
O: really great taste, drinks incredibly easily, smooth, just nice all around

A: A hazy gold pour with a huge bubbly white head. Retention is pretty decent and there are nice streaks of lacing.

S: Lemons, bananas, bubblegum and pear. Lots of wheaty bread.

T: Refreshing combination of lemons, oranges, pear and banana with again, a strong wheat bread base. Some cloves.

M: High carbonation, medium bodied.

O: A pretty simple beer but a great balance and drinkability to it. Refreshing, fruity and wheaty.

16.9 oz bottle poured into a weizen glass producing a cloudy golden color reminiscent of a regular hefeweissbier. Bright white two finger head and tons of bubbles racie through this thing.

There is a sweetness about the smell. Lovely fruit pops out with banana and maybe a pear. Bread. Slight bubblegum.

The alcohol is detectable. You get a lot of the same flavors in the taste that are apparent in the nose with the fruit and bubblegum. Spice.

Smooth, creamy ,and medium bodied.

I guess I was expecting something more like Aventinus in regards to a weizenbock. Pretty much a delicious hefe on roids.

500ml Bottle - from the lcbo for around 3$

Appearance - Hazy yellow/amber colour with a large size fizzy white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation and there is some good lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Lemon, grains, banana, yeast, coriander/cloves

Taste & Mouth - There is an above average amount of carbonation and I can taste lemons, bananas, and grains/bread. There is also some clove an coriander but the banana seems to be the most prominent flavour. It ends with a spicy lemon/banana aftertaste.

Overall - A dangerously drinkable beer with a great fruity and spicy flavour. You can taste the quality and the beer is a steal at 3$ a bottle. Worth picking up for sure.

Hazy golden yellow colour, two fingers of white fluffy head, thick lace all the way down the glass. Smell is packed with wheat and banana, spicy notes, clove, corriander, bready malt, sweet caramel notes come and go, faint alcohol deep down. Taste has lots of bready malts, wheat, banana, cloves and other spice, some tropical fruit especially in the finish, some sweet toffee/caramel flavours, more banana in finish and aftertaste. Med-high carbonation, creamy and full bodied, great feel overall. Incredible stuff, ABV nowhere to be found, incredibly drinkable and something I will buy much more of.

A: Attractive cloudy peach colour with a foamy stark-white coloured head.

S: Wheat, apricots, orange, biscuit-like malts, and underlying spices primarily cloves. Very refreshing and natural aromas. Finding it a little difficult to detect the general aroma however.

T: Wheat, orange peel, banana, tart apricots, spices (clove and corriander), pepper, raw cane sugar. Slightly medicinal or mineral-like (in a good way). Fresh tasting with a certain crispness.

M: Medium bodied with a moderate-high carbonation. Semi-chalky and dry with respectable oily character.

D: Very good stuff. Like tasting the first day of Spring. Refreshing and well balanced. New to this style but enjoyed this very much, and will be seeking out other Weizenbocks.

A: Pours a hazy orange/yellow color with a huge white head that lasts for a very long time. Sheets of lacing form around the entire glass.

S: Tons of clove and coriander, very estery, and lots of fruits - pear, apple, and a little bit of tropical fruit as well. A definite wheat aroma Overall, very floral and earthy.

T: Lots of wheat and bready malt mixed with a very nice level of spices (cloves and coriander again). The fruit flavors come out as a slightly tropical banana flavor. The banana is mixed with something else that I can't quite place, but I like it.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very crisp, smooth, and easy drinking.

O: Another classic from Weihenstephaner, fantastic beer. Would certainly drink this one again.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a weizen glass.

A: Hay color. Lots o' carbonation. Giant, cascading, bubbly, white head. Settles very slowly, in a root beer float sort of way. Not really anything to speak of in terms of lacing, but head persists throughout, and is continually renewed from the rising effervescence. Nice sediment.

S: Nose is freshly cut grass, wheat, and lemon citrus.

T: Wheat.... That's about it. Very pure and pristine.

M: Light and refreshing body, with only a slightly pungent finish. Nothing much of a lingering aftertaste. Goes down easy and is very natural and pure.

D: Easy drinking. Simple, but greatly executed.

Atmosphere is really good. Great head, and simple but full nose. Flavor is simple, but very well executed. Very pure and true. Overall, this is a great quaff.

Very hazy lemon yellow colour with a big pillowy white head. Average retention and lacing. The aroma is sweet and estery with lots of banana and fruit along with a slight hint of citrus and spice. Taste follows suit with lots of yeast-derived estery flavors: banana, bubble gum, and apple leads into a crisp finish with hints of clove and pepper. Sweet malt profile throughout. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Medium bodied with crisp carbonation. A great beer which drinks very well and struck me much like a suped up hefe, and is a bit dangerous in that regard.

A - Pours a hazy pale golden colour, three fingers of light bubbled head, solid retention and sporadic lacing.

S - Sweet bubble gum, citrus, cloves, melon and a touch of bready malt.

T - Solid wheat and cloves dominate, the caramel comes through and a bready malt lingers. Reminiscent of banana bread with the cloves hanging around and finishing with a icing sugar sweetness.

M - Lighter bodied ale, but goes down smooth and finishes wet.

O - These guys have anything "weizen" nailed. No need to question, you know you'll be satisfied with anything they produce. Have at 'er!

Pours a murky yellow. Big lively white head off the pour, settles to a nice-sized chunk of foam.

Substantial nose. Big wheat malt aromas. Fresh baked banana bread with a real sweetness.

The banana bread comes through again on the tongue. The sweetness from earlier comes across as vanilla, giving an even stronger impression of cakey dough, along with some nice chewy malt. This brew is so rounded and soft that, at times, it almost comes across as a wit.

Not what I was expecting from this one, this is a very easy-going hefe, and the alcohol is well-hidden. Nice wheat.
