Poured from a pint bottle into a weizen glass on 12.21.13.

A: 2 1/2 finger fluffy head. Golden.

S: Banana, banana bread, lemon.

T: Follows the nose. Banana, lemon, yeast.

M: Creamy smooth.

O: This is the best Weizenbock I've ever had. It's a banana and lemon bomb, if there is such a thing. Fantastic!

Pours a lovely light straw. The color white if wine only hay and with fat head of white foam that falkls slowly enough. The nose is sutlry fruit. The stuff your grandmother is putting in a pie. Apple skin, baked pear, light banana, clove, honey, spice a bit of cinnamon. Oh my stars. The taste is luscious Ripe and succulent fruit.l The apple skin crisp and light, the pear baked and sweet together with the clove. The honey malt The tall and crisp whet malt. That stands in the glass like a strange sentinel. Golden glowing flaky like flakes in the cereal bowl but sweet and soft too. OH! The banana light ans smooth. The mouthfeel is fruity, crisp, creamy . well carbonated and this finishes dry and with so much fruit you cannot stand to believe it’s not under a pie crust.

Poured from bottle to weizen glass.

Look is spectacular. Exactly what you expect from a delicious wheat beer. Golden, almost glowing, honey color with uniform turbidity.

Smell is not strong but that of fruit and honey - perhaps honeydew melon - mild and sweet. Of sweet delicious things.

Taste is where this beer goes over the top. It's so amazing it's hard to describe and every time I drink it there are new things I discover. It's generally sweet but not overly sweet. It follows the smell of honey and fruit but adds in some clove and spice. There is very little bitterness to this beer but just enough sour to balance the sweet. Reading this description (or others) I wouldn't think it's a beer I'd want to drink, but it works.

The mouth feel is light with a zippy amount of carbonation, much like you'd expect from a Hefe.

Overall it's really just a strong Hefe, a bock Hefe... Oddly enough I like it far more than I like Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen. It's clove and spice are more subdued and balanced. The alcohol content makes it dangerous because it is so drinkable and the alcohol is virtually undetectable. It goes down as easy as a light Hefe but reminds you of the extra alcohol at the end. Don't let the fruitiness fool you, it's got a kick!

500ml, poured into a wheat beer glass. BB date of Jan 2015. I noticed on the label that is won a World Beer Award for best strong wheat beer. Expectations have risen!

A- hazy, orange/gold appearance. Pours a very thick white frothy head that does settle down quickly.

S - wheat and yeast, with noticeable dollops of banana, clove, bubblegum and straw.

T - The best part! Wheat and spices are present , but the real star is the banana taste. It really comes over strong - much more than a typical wheat beer. Not too sweet though, and the wheat/yeast/spices (clove) in the background are welcome. Sweet, spicy aftertaste

M - Moderate carbonation, medium bodied, slick texture. Alcohol content is well hidden - for all I can tell it could be a <5% ABV

O - Best German wheat beer I've had. The banana strength in the taste made this brew genuinely enjoyable to drink, even if it was alcohol free. Having said that, it is a strong beer in terms of ABV and it goes down to easily. So be careful before gulping this down.

A: lovely straw yellow, with a gorgeous white foam head
S: spices, clove, cinnamon and some banana, along with a saltine cracker like malt.
T: clove and cinnamon at the forefront. I don't get the fruit so many others do, and my review reflects both that and my general dislike of clove flavors. The malt comes through in a cracker-biscuit way.
M: stellar. 5 stars easily here. Carbonation is high, but the bubbles are tiny. It's amazingly effervescent.
O: a gorgeously crafted beer by all accounts. If you like the spicy flavors, clove in particular, this is a must try. For the style, this is amazing, I just don't care for the style.

Bottle (6034):
Pours like a white ale, cloudy and about the most white yellow I've ever seen. The head is fluffy, sustaining, but not much lacing.

Nose is pure classics wheat, with some meadow, very light earth. There's a touch of banana, and a bit of clove, but also a lemon tartness I get in some sniffs.

Taste follows the nose, perhaps a bit more banana I noticed than a few earlier sips. Feel is quite smooth, especially as the beer warms a bit. Carbonation stays strong, letting the beer linger.

Nothing to complain about this beer, unsurprisingly. Solid but unexceptional, but as always, difficult to rate a beer that hits its style on point - is it "average" or "the standard"?
