From my tasting notes: It poured a cloudy golden color with a nice full creamy head and plenty of citrus on the nose. The taste had the signature German wheat beer tastes of banana, sweet candy, and a bit of citrus. The Vitus had a very creamy mouthfeel that spoke to its craftsmanship and elegantly balanced tasting experience. This was a great weizenbock and one that surprised me a bit as I didn't know what to expect. The Vitus is a beer to look for and one that will pleasantly surprise any beer lover.

Bottle, lightly swirled and poured into a tulip glass. Beer pours a hazy golden color with three plus fingers of fluffy bright white head. The pillowy head dissipates after a few minutes with some light lacing. Good amount of carbonation streaming up from the bottom of the glass.

Classic aromas of clove, banana, bubble gum, lemon peel, biscuit malts.

Taste follows the nose, nice yeast spiciness with clove and white pepper with fruity ester banana and bubble gum flavors. A touch of lemon with plenty of biscuit malt sweetness to round it out. Finishes clean with some light banana and clove flavors barely lingering on the tongue.

Light body with ample crisp carbonation that refreshes the tongue with each sip.

A classic Weizenbock that shows real depth and real class in the mouthfeel and use of hefe notes and the deeper darker aspects of the bock. I can't really find much to fault in this beer for the style as it is redolent of bananas and dark fruit with a luscious mouthfeel that really makes you want the beer never to end.

Poured from chilled bottle into weizen glass

A- Really fluffy billowy head with lots of big and little soapy bubbles effervescing and crackling. The head slooowly fell down and gave way to a nice golden hazy beer. It was a little lighter than I expected, but it's not a dunkel.

S- Smells strong, but, the smell is not really alcohol. It just smells like a nice strong, hardy German beer. Tart, fruit, yeast, banana bread, pair, a hint of cinnamon and warm apples.

T- Much like the smell, nice yeasty flavors, a little spice, some coriander?

M- Nice, thick, chewy, full bodied beer.

O- A nice representation of the style. It's full bodied and has some kick behind it. It has a nice complexity to it while not going over the top, as it is in my opinion that some of these weizenbocks are a bit too intense with the flavors. The beer is well balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Also, it is a great deal for an import with a higher ABV at only around $3-$4 a bottle.

A: Poured out a very cloudy golden color. Two fingers of off white head. Solid retention but not too much lacing.

S: Mostly notes of banana and clove.

T: All of the qualities of the nose with a subtle lemony hop background flavor.

M: Medium, creamy body with a champagne-like carbonation.

O: I was thoroughly pleased with this one. It was a bit on the sweet side, but a great beer through and through. Solid in every category.
