On tap at Krug Park in Omaha, NE
Served to me in a Weihenstephaner weizen glass.
Beer features a 2cm head off-white head of fairly dense, small bubbles. Body is a transparent golden yellow color, with some visibly active carbonation. Not seeing much in the way of lacing. Just above average.
Aroma is very clean and fresh, with a well-balanced bready, slightly nutty maltiness just overpowering the Teutonic hops.
Taste is definitely malt-forward, gently sweet and bready, but also has some slight toast and biscuit flavors. This is tempered by mildly spicy hops in the back/finish that balance out the dominant flavors and provide a nice close. Aftertaste is faintly malty and sweet.
Medium to medium-light bodied with fairly gentle carbonation, making this enjoyable smooth, yet crisp. Dry finish.
Not an Oktoberfest, but of the lighter "festbier" type. Still, this remains delicious and highly drinkable, one that I hadn't had before, but will definitely add to my list to pick up next season. Note that I've had this on tap and in bottles, and thus far prefer the on-tap.

11.2 oz brown bottle - coded 1243 that I think translates to bottled on June 11, 2013
Weihenstephaner Oktoberfestbier filled my pint glass with a very light cloudy golden hue, not your typical dark/copper color of the style. Atop was a white 1-finger head with good retention. The nose was clean, floral and grassy. The taste is a little bready with a light somewhat spicy hop bitterness. The finish is clean and refreshing making for good drinkability. Mouth feel is pleasant , clean and crisp with moderate carbonation.
Weihenstephaner Oktoberfestbier is a solid marzen, however to me it does not measure up to their Hefeweissbier or Korbinian.
