16.9oz bottle, Bruery tulip.
In a way I think this is what much of the world thinks beer looks like, or should look like. Soft golden yellow, quite clear, with a big white dollop of fine foam on top. The lacing is in long, thick swaths.
There's moist dough, a little sulfur, cracker lager yeast, pilsner malt, leafy hops, and a slight vegetal note in the aroma.
Very malty. Sweet, doughy, delicate light malts. A pleasant peppery spice, light bitterness, and green vegetable hops work as a balanced counter. Wonderfully smooth and rounded graininess.
Medium body, medium-high carbonation. Surprisingly full for a light lager, but not too thick.
I'm making this disappear quickly, even on a winter night. I figured I'd finally review a classic and it does not disappoint. I've been to Munich, but before my beer awakening and therefore did not sample this at the source. If I'm ever there again I may drown in it.

On tap @ Library Alehouse.
A: Pours a clear pale yellow with a half-inch thick white head which fades to the rim leaving spotty lace.
N: Grainy, yeasty, faint lemon citrus, grassy/hay, spring freshness.
T: Mostly follows the nose while being crisp and nicely clean.
M: Light body and semi-medium carbonation. Smooth, yeasty and grassy finish.
O: Easy drinking. I have to ask myself, self - why haven't you had this before???

Poured Weihenstephaner Original into a mug.
A - Pours a bright clear golden with a finger of white head.
S - Some light bread, biscuit, malts. Faint hops and some skunk.
T - Light malts, more bitter hops in there as well. Mid palate getting more bread and light malt flavors. On the aftertaste just a pinch of bitter hops comes through.
M - Smooth with medium carbonation with medium to light mouthfeel.
O - A good Helles. Enjoy! Cheers!
