Poured from a bottle into a Erdinger Weissbrau glass. The pour is very clear and pale gold in color. There is about 2 fingers of fluffy white head and some considerable effervescence. The nose has a floral, peppery, slightly musty aroma from the pilsner malt and noble hops.
Light body and clean, malty flavor. Very well-balanced between sweet, grainy malty flavors and dry, stony hops. I get no off-flavors or citrusy notes that tend to plague some imitators of the German styles. Instead, it's very authentic, easy-drinking, and refreshing. There is just enough dryness on the finish to balance out the sweetness from the malt.
Not my favorite style, but this classic beer is definitely worth trying every once in a while.

On tap @ Library Alehouse.
A: Pours a clear pale yellow with a half-inch thick white head which fades to the rim leaving spotty lace.
N: Grainy, yeasty, faint lemon citrus, grassy/hay, spring freshness.
T: Mostly follows the nose while being crisp and nicely clean.
M: Light body and semi-medium carbonation. Smooth, yeasty and grassy finish.
O: Easy drinking. I have to ask myself, self - why haven't you had this before???

Poured Weihenstephaner Original into a mug.
A - Pours a bright clear golden with a finger of white head.
S - Some light bread, biscuit, malts. Faint hops and some skunk.
T - Light malts, more bitter hops in there as well. Mid palate getting more bread and light malt flavors. On the aftertaste just a pinch of bitter hops comes through.
M - Smooth with medium carbonation with medium to light mouthfeel.
O - A good Helles. Enjoy! Cheers!
