Another slam-dunk perfect example of the style from Weihenstephaner. I'm sitting here drinking this and realized I never reviewed it. So!
A. Light, not-quite-clear yellow. Small head (for a Weihenstephaner brew) lifts up about an inch and then falls fast. Pretty. Sticks around to cap the top. Small amounts of bubbles rise lazily to the surface. My German heritage meter is immediately tweaked.
S. Not much here but what is here is perfect. Crisp malt-centric golden pale sweetness mixed with a tinge of DMS (acceptable here, doesn't mean I have to like it...) and a reserved spicy, grassy hop note. That's all, folks. Smells like peasant beer, in a good way.
T. Dead-on what one would expect after the nose. Lightly sweet grainy malt profile mixed with a crisp noble hop bite that is still reserved. The barest hint of toasted sugar rounds everything up into a mildly corny, sweet smooth malty finish.
M. Medium body, clean malt aftertaste, mid carbonation makes this an easy drink. I could, and would, have another. It's simple, but there's really nothing here to grab me.
Bottom line: A killer example of a minor style. Quite nice, quite drinkable, but simple as the style dictates. You could do heaps worse. Go Germans!

I think my bottle could have been fresher as it was a little undercooked carbonation-wise.
A - Clear, bright and with a satisfyingly billowy head. I poured it in to style-appropriate glassware and it looked sort of amazing.
S - Light hop profile complimented by malt, spice, orange peel and a little hop.
T - Light hop profile complimented by malt, spice, orange peel and a little hop.
M - Light and refreshing but I'd have liked a little more fizz.
O - Beerdrinkers of the world (and by world I mean Beer Advocates) really need to recognise that there is definitely a place for lagers. This was a great way to start my session, easing in with a classic and refreshing beverage.
