Poured out a pilsner-esque bronze and gold, nice and thick -- not clear. The thin white heaed faded rather quickly, leaving very little lacing.
The nose is faint. Citrus and malt up front, but not much. There is a good murky funk lingering on the edges. Not much to sniff. The taste is good; bits of rind and spice together with the malt taste which dominates. The hops are there, faint but not weak, on the back. Fairly well-balanced.
Definitely a very easy-going beer. Crisp mouthfeel, quite drinkable, and the complexity that it has is very subtle. Good for when you don't want the beer to be the centerpiece of action, be it a hot afternoon in the biergarten or with an equally soft-palated meal. Overall, not bad.

On tap @ Library Alehouse.
A: Pours a clear pale yellow with a half-inch thick white head which fades to the rim leaving spotty lace.
N: Grainy, yeasty, faint lemon citrus, grassy/hay, spring freshness.
T: Mostly follows the nose while being crisp and nicely clean.
M: Light body and semi-medium carbonation. Smooth, yeasty and grassy finish.
O: Easy drinking. I have to ask myself, self - why haven't you had this before???

Poured Weihenstephaner Original into a mug.
A - Pours a bright clear golden with a finger of white head.
S - Some light bread, biscuit, malts. Faint hops and some skunk.
T - Light malts, more bitter hops in there as well. Mid palate getting more bread and light malt flavors. On the aftertaste just a pinch of bitter hops comes through.
M - Smooth with medium carbonation with medium to light mouthfeel.
O - A good Helles. Enjoy! Cheers!
