My first beer by Weihenstephaner was the hefeweizen. I thought it was amazing, and after I picked up this beer and a couple others from the brewery.

I don't normally go for the lagers, but this one really stood out. This is a tasty, great smelling, easy to drink beer. It is a very good, full flavored option to pair with many different beers. It smells really good before each drink, and then the sipping stays consistent to the smell.

I think the best part is that this beer is very easy to get. We can get it in almost any beer shop in the area.

A- incredibly light straw color. one finger head. virtually no lacing on the glass, but i suppose that's expected.

S- clean on the nose. faint grass from the hops and some bread as well.

T- incredibly crisp carbonation right away. little bit of malt up front with a hint of hops immediately afterwards that makes it beautifully balanced. taste of bread that dries and lingers nicely long after.

One of the best lagers i've tasted. Nice to have as a break from some of the more aggressive beers.

***I wrote a beautiful review of this beer and it somehow disappeared!***

So im only going summarize my thoughts in 2 sentences out of frustration. Look at my ratings!

This beer had a great fresh nose, a wonderful toasted sweetness throughout the drink, nice balance of a lager-esque taste and a tanginess and slight bitter hops. Great brew, easy drinking, nice flavors.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow color with a fingers worth of head that retains well

S: Certainly lager-esque, with the lager yeastiness, pale malts, and a hint of toasted grains

T: Follows the nose, along with a hint of leafy hops towards the finish. Not much, but just enough to give it a twang

M: Light-medium bodied with plenty of carbonation

O: A classic. This would definitely appeal to the non-craft crowd and might help steer them into the light. Easy to drink, affordable (especially for an import), and is fairly simplistic. A must-try for all those lager-lovers

Pale golden yellow body with a bright white head on top. A fair amount of sticky lace clings to the glass.

Floral hops overlay a delicate malt aroma. Grainy and a bit doughy and rounded out by a fair bit of peppery spice.

Malts come through on the palate with a strong cereal grain note before the spice of the Noble hops comes in. Notes of honey and lemongrass can also be detected.

Mouthfeel is clean, crisp, and light bodied making for a very refreshing beverage. Overall, these Germans are onto something here with such a refreshing and easy drinking beer. Would love to have this one fresh from the source.

A: Medium yellow with excellent clarity. A bright white head of compact bubbles that is dissipates fairly quickly leaving a thick ring of foam around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate grainy and somewhat sweet with a low hops aromas that are flowery and spicy. Faint DMS, no diacetyl, no esters
T: Grainy and very slightly sweet, a nice balance of low hops bitterness
M: A nice softness on the palate probably from the pils malt with a medium body and medium carbonation.
O: It take a lot to impress me with a lager and this one certainly does. Not only excellent for style but just a plain excellent beer.

Big thanks to Huhzubendah for bringing this over for me yesterday; I've actually never had this one before but I love the brewery so happy to try it. Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle into my Portsmouth 20th Anniversary pilsner glass.

a - Pours a very clear bright yellow color with two fingers of fluffy bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of grains, bready malts, wheat, Belgian yeast, light floral notes, and light earthy notes. A tiny bit of citrus to it too; very refreshing and nice.

t - Tastes of bready malts, grains, wheat, floral hops, lemon, citrus, Belgian yeast, earthy notes, and very light spice. A little more lemon then the nose; again, quite nice.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing and very easy to drink. Great mouthfeel.

o - Overall I thought this was a very well made helles lager. Not traditionally a style I'm crazy about, this is one of the better ones I've had. Some nice Belgian notes mixing with floral and citrus, and super easy to drink. Would certainly have it again, and could see it being a great summer night beer.

Liked this one for awhile now. Didn't realize I hadn't reviewed it.

A: Pours a rich, golden hue with excellent clarity and a good bit of fizzy white head. Head retention is moderate.

S: Grass, lemon, sulfur, spicy hop aromas. Very bright and powerful aromas, as well.

T: Clean, beautiful notes of toasted cracker, lemon, touch of salt, spicy hops without being overpowering. The balance of malt and hops is easily one of the best I've ever come across.

M:The best part. Tiny bits of carbonation leave a lively tingling on the tongue. In no way seltzery, this beer is still incredibly dry and refreshing.

O: Awesome. One of the better pale lagers I've had. A good step up for the BMC crowd while still being complex enough to enjoy as a more discerning beer drinker.

S: Lemon, malts, grass and grain

T: Clean and nice, with some mild bready hops. Very pleasant and easily drinkable.

M: Nice and smooth, creamy despite its light body.

O: A very drinkable lager that is miles above others in its genre. Delicious.

Smell: Light crisp bread like malts

Appearance: Golden and clear.

Taste: Much like the smell. Light and crisp with delicious bread like malts. Just the lightest kiss of hops. Extremely drinkable.

Mouth feel: Very nice. Prickly carbonation.

Overall: Just an outstanding lager. Extremely thirst quenching and a perfect example of style. No wonder this beer has been pleasing drinkers since 1040.

A - head of the beer last awhile and appear hoppy

S -Nothing that isn't normal

T - I really enjoyed the taste of this beer...It has a great after taste that makes you enjoy every gulp!!

M - Light on the pallet and smooth on the tongue

O - This is the best premium lager I've yet to taste. I like everything about which atest to why this brewery has made it since 1040 A.D.
