poured from 1pint.9 floz bottle into the brewery's eponymous hefe glass.
A- Beautiful. Slow pour reveals hazy golden straw with visible carbonation activity from bottom to top, voluminous 4-5 finger head, consistent and tight small foam bubbles, recedes slowly over the course of drinking to 1/2 finger head retention to the bottom of the glass. Spotty lacing at best- second bottle in a different glass resulted in better lacing. Overall, simply a beautiful beer to look at in a weizen glass.
S- Banana, damp sweet hay, vanilla, smell of sweet cream and nutty browned butter even! Mild fruits throughout the smell, a little citric as well, wonderful aroma.
T- Banana, vanilla again, hops are not strong- perhaps just enough tannin? to be slightly astringent, contributing to a drier finish than one would expect with these kinds of aromas. Sweetness (malts?) is mild but very welcome and excellently balanced. Flavor reminded me of sweet cream butter. Slight tang from citic component, but that may just be the smell coming back in.
M- SOOO smooth and SOOOO creamy. The foam of the head is soooo soft in the mouth, almost fluffy. Like a thin, foamed creme anglaise almost in the mouth, with similar classic flavors. The carbonation is perfectly complementary, not too harsh, but present enough to provide lightness and refreshing lift.
Overall, this beer is amazing. Had mine with a steamed whole tilapia, cantonese styled. Went wonderfully- brought out more of the fruity components of the beer and balanced so well with the delicate steamed fish. A classic beer on so many levels, no wonder why every other weiss is attempting to use this as the benchmark!

A-The body is the haziest of orange, capped off by mountains of off-white head. Infinite finger thick is the head. It keeps building and growing and spilling out of your glass. Once the head finally falls you can start to see the cascading lace. The lace doesn't cling nor does it fall fast, it streams down in a relaxing fashion. So cloudy is the body and yet it shines like sun-bright egg yolks when held to light. Magic.
S-Banana. Clove. Cinnamon. Bubblegum. Candy sweet. Wheat. Dark bread. Take a hunk of banana bread and sniff it. Now sniff this beer. No difference. The beer will probably smell even better with a smorgasbord of scents on display.
T-Banana. Banana bread. Walnuts, almonds, buttery sweet nuts. Sweet wheat. Honey. Flashes of lemon & orange, very minimal. World class taste.
M-A watery yet still medium body is soft and refreshing. Medium carbonation is aided by beautiful spicy dry clove notes to where you become unsure which is tingling your tongue more: carbonation or spiced yeast? The sip starts, continues and ends in a harmonious fashion: Sweet, bready, lemony tart, mildly-to-heavily spiced and drying. The after-feel is super yeasty and peppery. Your taste-buds stand on end. Like all good things, it just "feels right".
O-The best Hefeweizen. A beer in which I can think of no area to improve in. In fact, stop reading as I'll stop reviewing and lets drink us some Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier.

Weihenstephaner hefe weissbier 6pk bottles $9.99(OH)
11.2 oz/330 ml brown bottle poured into a 17 oz white wine glass. No freshness date.
Pours a Nice hazy yellow/orange color. with a two and a half finger bright white head that lingers for a while. gives way to nice soap bubble like lacing all over the bulb of my glass.
The aroma is Strong, spicy banana's, subtle malts, and a nice wheat yeast smell. Very Inviting. There's something about a good Hefe that grows on me everyday. This smells great!
Taste follows the nose. A spicy banana, cloves, subtle malts, a perfect wheat yeast taste.
mouth feel is great. A creamy spicy banana lingers for a long time. Great carbonation. This is a great Hefe, and all others strive to be like this.
Overall, buy it or try it. You will love it. Best Hefe to date. I have had this brew many times and will buy it till I cant buy it no more. The more you try the hefe style it will grow on you. I did not like it at first. But it has a way of calling your name.

On tap at the House of Brews. Served in a Weihenstephan weizen glass.
Appearance - Hazy pale orange. More yellow. Nice white pillowy head. Never settlea fully. Some lacing.
Smell - Phenolic. A little bit of bubble gum. Banana and wheaty grain. Estery.
Taste - Grain right up front. Minimal sweetness, but it's there. Bubble gum phenols. Dry finish. Floral esters and banana on the finish.
Mouthfeel - Grainy, but smooth from a medium body. Drinks easily and finishes dry.
Overall - Not my style, but this drinks nicely. A great go-to beer that can be found everywhere.

What a wonderful hefeweissen! Lovely, soft citrus aromas. Pours a warm golden with a pillowy head. Tastes like fruit, and bread, and sunshine. I didn't discern any dryness or hoppiness, but the beer tastes very smooth, well-balanced, drinkable and flavorfull. Unlike some other hefeweissens, I wasn't put off by any excessive sweetness or carbonation. All-around great beer.
