Appearance: Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier poured into a weizen glass delivers a wonderfully opaque, unfiltered gamboge colour, a sparse amount of bubbles ascend to the magnificently massive cream-white crown which withstands the fall of time in all its majesty for a long period, leaving its inheritance in the shape of sporadic lacing -- hail to the king!
Smell: Obviously bananas 'n' carrots. just like you know it should when it comes to weissbrewskis, some cloves and a whiff of black pepper comes to notice along with the yeasty undertones which functions as base for this otherwise pretty sweet experience.
Taste: Corresponding to what we got in the smell compartment, however the carrots tend to -- thankfully -- dominate over the bananas which seem to be quickly replaced by a peachy/apple-like sourness. The whole ride is finished of with a luring and gentle bitterness interlaced with the aforementioned yeastiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium full and very creamy yet somewhat coarse in texture, medium-low in carbonation.
Drinkability: Concerning weissbier, do they come off as any better than this one, the archetype if you will, 'nuff said; verdrinken -- schnell!
On a sidenote: The brewery is founded in 1040, man back then we'd barely heard of hvitekrist/the son of man/the ultimate irony (get it? a carpenter being nailed to some wood) up here in the grim and frostbitten kingdoms...

A: full, frothy, slowly dissipating eggshell head; cobweb lattice lacing as the head recedes; hazy straw, with the final yeast pour creating wisps like cirrus clouds
S: yeast, bread, lemon, banana bread and cloves
T: malt, yeast, orange, cloves, faint bubble gum
M: medium-full-bodied; a bit of carbonated and acidic bite, at first in the rear sides of the mouth, but then spreading to the tongue; dry
O: a remarkable hefeweizen. I might be selling it short by withholding fives, but I'll certainly be revisiting this one and will reconsider.

I had previously had this bottled, but the on tap version was spectacular. The only thing I could complain about would be the price, but for a beer of this quality to a wheat beer lover like myself, it was worth a few extra shekels. I would order this anytime and anywhere!
