A: Weihenstephaner Hefe has a beautiful hazy golden color that is topped off by a bone white head. It readily climbs out over the rim of the glass, much like a souffle, and retains much of its volume throughout the experience. It also has delightful lacing, with torrents of pin-head bubbles racing to the head.
S: A touch softer than what I was hoping for, but piquant nonetheless, the nose is marked by a gentle balance between clove and banana.
T: Deliciously dry, slightly acidic, and thoroughly enjoyable. The clove/banana marked in the nose make a strong appearance alongside mango and pineapple.
M: Full body, but lightened by the extremely effervescent nature of the brew. Spot on for the style.
D: One of the best examples of one of my favorite styles. This is the epitome of what a hefe should be. The greatest part: you can find this beer just about anywhere. If you've never had a hefe before, this should definitely be your first.
