I have enjoyed the Weihenstephaner Dunkel since I found it in the fall. It's become my go to beer after a tough evening of sports as it's incredibly quaffable. So I was quite happy to see the regular Hefeweiss on the shelves and give it a go.
It poured *beautifully*. A golden cloudy golden hue with a big poofy wipped egg white head that stuck around for a while. Excellent stuff. The smell is big on this one. Banana, cloves and fruit are prominent and the taste has even more volume. Loads of fruit, bananas, melons and god knows what else. It's enjoyable and like their dunkel it swims down your throat. Drinkability is high thanks to a near perfect mouthfeel.
My only slight complaint is that this beer is fairly sweet. There are moments when I think it's too sweet for my tastes.

Pours a cloudy, orangish yellow color in a weizen glass with a really nice head that leaves a little lacing on the glass as it disappears.
Smell is excellent. I get that classic hefeweizen smell of clove, and other spices as well as the wheat malts.
Taste is right on target, just as you would suspect from the great smell. I get the spices and wheat malts. Best beer I have ever tasted!
Mouthfeel is great. Good carbonation that really cleanses the pallet.
Overall, really excellent beer. I have only been rating beers a few months but this one is my favorite so far. If you want a good wheat beer you should give this one a try.
