While picking up a case of Hopslam at Shangy's I seen this little gift pack with it's own glassware.
Poured into the Weihenstephan weizen glass which is shaped like Das Boot!. Slightly hazy yellow golden color with an extremely fizzy and fluffy white cap. Bubbles slowly drifting upward toward the surface.
Smell is mostly of sweet wheat malts. A touch of spice and yeast. Simple.
Taste just overwhelms the tastebuds. Starts out with the crisp wheat malts, Then the quick touching down of lemon zest which is there only breifly to make way for the earthy - medicinal middle.Finishes with a slight bitter hoppy bite that blends perfectley with clove to skreetch this ride to a hault.
Mouth is smooth and somewhat watery but not week.Light bodied, perfect carbonation ,leaves slight slickess butteriness on the tongue.
I am not a huge fan of Hefeweizen's but this I'll make an exception. Fantastic beer.
