Not sure when or where I first had this, but I've had it several times over the years, bottled and on tap.

Pale golden-yellow pour, hazy, with a tall fluffy white head; decent retention and a bit of lacing. Yeasty aroma, bready, banana esters, clovey spice, pretty much exemplary of the style. The taste reflects the nose, pale bready malts, doughy, toasted wheat, classic hefe yeast, banana and clove. Medium body, fairly smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. This is where you go for a no-nonsense hefeweizen.

12 oz bottle that was purchased in Las Vegas with the code 1282 stamped into the back. Poured into my perfect pint glass.

Appearance: Easily the most massive head I have seen, white, solid and 1/2 the glass. The beer is a hazy straw color. Leaves some lacing as it goes.

Smell: Yeast, wheat, lemony phenols, clove, bubble gum and a little band-aid. Exactly how a good hefe should smell.

Taste: Delicious wheat with citrus overtones, most from the yeast and maybe a touch from hops, I suspect. Clove comes out a little more strongly in the taste. Actually pretty thirst quenching. This one does not bowl you over with intensity (big stout of IPA) but the flavor has a tone of great quality.

Mouthfeel: Smooth texture and a lower amount of carbonation (due to the massive head) make for a great feeling beer.

Overall: These guys have been brewing this one for a while, so I imagine that they have perfected this style. I would tend to agree. For some strange reason, this one is not available in Utah, and that is a shame.

Pours a golden-orange color with a huge, fluffy white head that looks like a cloud atop the brew. Super volatile, even a somewhat conservative pour gives this thick-ass head. The nose is full of yeast, wheat, malts, light spices including clove and maybe coriander, and a faint hint of fruity sweetness. The taste follows the style of hefeweissbiers very closely (after all, this is the original as they say), full of sweet fruity esters; banana, faint lemon and orange zest, hints of clove and kitchen spices, and a rush of sweet malt, and a cyclone of pure yeast, extremely reminiscent of bubblegum. Alcohol makes an appearance, although very faint at 5.4% ABV, it provides a nice structure to control everything else. Wheat on the tongue and breads and yeast in the aftertaste - this beer is delicious. Lots of carbonation provides a nice, crisp snap on the tongue; thin-medium body.

The claims they make about this beer aren't false or even exaggerated - this is some truly great stuff, here. One of (if not, THE) best hefe I've had - this is quickly becoming one of my favorite session beers; great flavor, low ABV, goes down smooth. What's not to love?

Poured a nice, vibrant amber with a thick white head that diminishes slowly over the course of the 500ml beer. The taste is about what I remember from enjoying this beer frequently while living in Germany, still a nice fruit finish and that wonderful hefe mouthfeel. Overall a great buy, especially for someone looking for a more authentic German experience thanks in large to the 500ml service size. Of all of the wonderful beers I had in Germany, this one seems closest to the real deal as any I've had.
