Poured into a 312 Weizen Glass.

A: This Hefe pours a wonderful golden with an enormous frothy white head. There is a wonderful amount of retention in this head and the lacing is remarkable.

S: I adore the Banana smell, hint of cloves, and a hint of spice of some sort. This is what I think of when I think Hefeweizens.

T: This is an interesting and complex taste, unlike the nose, on my first sip the cloves invite me in then tempt me with a small amount of banana flavor and then more cloves, and finishes with a bready malt flavor that makes you wanting more.

M: This is a lighter beer with a nice dry finish that leaves you wanting more , incredibly smooth, a lovely beer.

O: The fact that I can get this beer locally for less than $2.50 will lead me to have it more and more often. While this is rated as the best Hefe, I would rank it Number 2 behind Dancing Man by New Glarus, which has a more prominent Banana flavor and more subtle clove flavor. i would recommend this Beer to everyone, Well Done as One would expect from the Worlds oldest brewery.

A--Truly fantastic...the head is this massive, angelic, pillowy, off-white mound of fluff that would not be out of place in one of those touch and feel books for babies. The color is a bright golden orange, as expected for a hefeweizen. Swirling and pouring the sediment in the bottom of the glass should be canonized as a rite of passage for every serious beer drinker.

S--Let's be blunt: Hefes are characterized by two things: wheat and yeast. This beer is going to smell like bread. I'm sure there is more going on beyond that, but I'll let the other reviewers focus on the idiosyncrasies. For the time being, my brain refuses to acknowledge any scents beyond that of fresh bread.

T--I don't mean this to sound like a cop-out, but here goes...
This tastes like a hefeweizen should. If you have had other hefeweizens, they should be compared to the Weihenstephaner standard. If you have not had a hefeweizen, either you are in the wrong place and should get back to your vortex bottles and coldness indicators, or you should buy this beer and make it your first.

M--Be ready for an onslaught of bubbles. Also, one thing I love about this style that is perfectly captured by this beer is that the same yeast that gives the cloudy appearance and delicious flavor also makes a huge contribution to the mouthfeel. It's smooth and rich, but in an entirely different way than how one would describe a porter or stout.

Overall--I'll admit (like many of you), I'm a sucker for high ABV beers, eye-catching labels, and any local craft beer. The Weihenstephaner is none of these. It is one of those landmark beers that defines this delicious beverage as we know it.

A: Pours a hazy straw/gold with a massive, creamy, smooth head that dissipates extremely slow. Heavy carbonation.

N: Wheat, banana and light notes of clove and lemon.

T: Banana, wheat and faint lemon upfront followed by hints of strawberry. Finishes with faint notes of clove and apricot.

M: Medium-full bodied, crisp, smooth, clean and refreshing.

O: This is the best Hefeweizen I've ever had. Very subtle and easy to drink. I've put it off for a long time because I'm not a fan of wheat beers but this is fantastic! It is indeed world class.

Poured into a 500ml weihenstephan weizen glass.

A- cloudy golden yellow, about 2 inches of fluffy white head that takes ages to subside with a nice lacing. pretty much perfect.

S- Lots of clove and peppery spice straight up, yeastiness, banana, touch of sweetness, citrus on the end. each flavor strong, and each moving into the other very well

T- straight up, a touch of malts, but then banana, clove, spice, pepper, yeast, more citrus than on the nose, rounding everything out very well. delicious.

M- lighter to mid-bodied, a spritzy carbonation, nice length. nice feel.

O- looks amazing, smells and tastes great, mouthfeel is the one weakness but its still really good. great beer. love it

Bottle gifted by Huhzubendah, Thanks Matt

Pours a light gold color with a perfect two finger white head. Great lacing, and great carbonation. Hazy in appearance. The nose is amazing, wheat, yeast, lemon, and malt. Taste follows the nose profile. Feel is just about perfect... Sweet, with a perfect malt backbone and refreshing finish. There's a reason this is #1 beer in style.. It doesn't get any better than this for a hefeweizen. Cheers.

a: perfect gold, hazy from the yeast

s: smells of really nice yeast, and wheat. A little bit of alcohol breathes through if you keep sniffing. Perfumy.

t: Nice and crisp. The coronation is perfect and so is the taste. Not too much yeast and the sweetness and the wheat is perfectly balanced.

o: Very nice beer. I'd buy it again.
