Did a little Dunkel side by side last night with this, Erdinger,Julius Echter, and Franziskaner. All four were nearly identical in pour and appearance. All got a full aggressive pour with the yeast, cause that's how I like em. This gave the beers a somewhat (but not too) cloudy nut brown color. Head on all was present, but short lasting.
Smell was similar in all four beers, with a yeasty banana bread and almost medicinal clove aroma.
Taste was more of the same - Big yeasty banana bread. Nothing really remarkable here. It is good, but not as nice as the JE nor as unique as the Franz. A damn sight better than the Erdinger though.
Mouthfeel is where this really runs short. Thinner than the frontliners with a higher carbonation that really adversely affects the drinkability of this beer. An average Dunkel compared to the others. nothing wrong with that. Just that there are better and worse choices to be had.

Pours a cloudy walnut stain color with a vigorous head.
Smell is of mildewy spice.
The flavor is dominated with banana and spice
Mouthfeel is a bit sour and medicinal.
It's fairly light bodied and would be drinkable if you enjoy it's other aspects.
I tried this out of curiosity, but would never buy it again.

This poured a murky yellow brown, cloudy from the yeast, creating a frothy head.
The scent is malty but not aggressive.
The taste is malty and bready with a light mouthfeel, verging on watery.
This would be enjoyable on a bright day at a beer garden.

Poured from a bottle into a goblet.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a ton of off white head. As the head fades, it leaves a nice layer on top of the pour. Good retention.
Smell: A mild sweetness, some caramel and molasses. Hints of banana and spices. There is an odd smell that reminds me of tomatoes.
Taste: Just okay for me. Definitely picking up some malt along with some clove and mild banana. Perhaps some molasses as well. The finish seems a bit watery to me.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with prickly carbonation and a very dry finish.
Overall: I expected to enjoy this one more than I did. I'm going to have another to make sure I got an alright bottle. Not bad, just not amazing either.

Head retention is good, lacing isn't very strong, and the brown color is cloudy and a little golden. The smell is os deep clove, with a little banana and a slight lemon backround. The taste is a little sweet, metallic, very clovey, and a slight banana backround. The mouthfeel is fine like a hefeweizen should be, crisp and foamy. Overall I thought this beer was a little metallic, but I might try it again later.

pours a dunkely brown with orange on the edges. one-finger head packed tight with steadily rising carbonation through the body. thin lacing wastes no time returning to the body of beer. summery and light.
aroma is wheaty and leaves not much to say. smells good. smells like wheat, i like wheat, i want to drink it.
taste? smooth and wheaty, mostly bitter though with some sweet caramel notes also weighing heavy. fresh tartness of lemon and sweet clove back it all up. doesnt measure up to the regular hefe. flavors cancel each other our here moreso than complementing each other. banana is still here but forced into the background by a dark burnt breadiness. ok, good german session.

A- looks like a beer should. Has a thick, white foamy head with a good body. Dark golden color to the beer itself
S- Smell is top-notch, very refreshing. Smells almost like a "spring-rain"
T- Malty, although dissaointing. Has the banana taste, but not as strong as in, say, the Schneider Aventinus. Alcohol taste definitely there. Not as smooth as the Schneider either
M- as stated above, not as smooth. Although, it does swirl well in the mouth
O- for some reason, I just feel like this is a lesser version of the Schneider Aventinus. Although it has great qualities, the taste is lacking. It is however, a good beer
