A golden yellow beer made on the occasion of Saint Josefs commemoration day which is celebrated in Germany on March, 19th. The very special character of the beer is achieved by using a slowly and long dried green malt in order to brew a high fermented and easy digestible beer with both intensive and fine impact of hops from the cultivars Hallertauer Tradition and Spalter Select.

On-tap 6/18/2014 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains honey, lager yeast, caramelized malts and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of honey and caramel. Then some breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The hops presence is very mild but provides a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Had this on-tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City; served in a seidel mug.

A - Golden-orange body with a foamy white head that settled to a thin layer over the beer. Fine lacing throughout.

S - Malts, grass, and caramel. Malty sweetness seems to permeate throughout. Some minor hints of floral hops.

T - Malts and caramel dominate the front, with a bit of a hop kick towards the back end. Sweetness and slight bitter on the aftertaste. Lovely beer on a hot day.

M - Low to medium in carbonation, yet crisp and refreshing.

O - This was one great bock. The smell and taste were very comforting and definitely refreshing on a very warm summer afternoon. I haven't had a bock beer in a few months and this one has set me on a path to getting some more of it. Definitely worth having, and I will likely get another if I see it on tap at GHS again (or anywhere else for that matter).

On tap at Congregation Ale House in Pasadena, CA.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy bone head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, caramel, and grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and grassy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that with some solid aromas and flavors for the style.
