Appearance: Served in a Nonic Pint glass. This full slightly opaque dark amber colored IPA pours with a nice rich creamy off-white head that leaves a nice ring of lacing around the side of the glass.

Smell: It smells as I would expect. Bright piney and citric hops. Secondary hints of tangerine and orange. This is one of the more citric IPA's. I know this is a new brewery but I was hoping for at least one more dimension to the hops. The malts are mildly caramel, but other than that not present.

Taste: This beer is all hops. The hops taste super bright and shine through this beer like a copper penny at the bottom of a watery well. I need some malts to round up this beer and turn it into something more interesting. I taste resinous fruity hops. There is some apricot and peach in here. The bitterness is fine.

Mouthfeel: Clean and fresh blast of resinous hops. Finishes clean and with a good bitterness. Slightly watery and needs some malt backing.

Overall: An average IPA, which is fine. I've had some terrible IPA's. This is nothing to write home about and will definitely have a hard time competing with the glut of really excellent locally available IPA' and DIPA's. But kudos to this brewery for providing local folks with an avenue into craft beer. Every city deserves at least this much. I hope the brewers can add multiple dimensions to the hops and get some more malt backing. There is the potential of something very good coming from this brewery. Keep it up Elevation 66.

A good, standard, local brew, with a 7 % kick....in a great setting,... brewery is 2 feet behind the bar, poured in imperial pints, great deal, 3.50 happy hour pricing... I still like Pyramid up the street but this beer is my new local hang out draft....

Served cloudy and dirty amber with minimal head and spotty lacing (brewer had just transferred beer so little time to clarify). I like a cloudy brew for it's apparent yeasty freshness and promise of flavor. Smell didn't disappoint either, floral hoppy goodness.

Taste is straight up delicious, a good malt backbone that is bready and floral and citrus hops in good balance. Some complexity with phenolic esters providing faint fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium body, a little chewey, slight hop oiliness.

Overall, this is a beer I could keep on drinking long after it was good for me. Great stuff.

A - Served a hazy amber-orange color with a finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades down slowly leaving behind some good lacing.

S - Aroma is full of big citrus hops with a bit of pine and some sweet caramel malts with a touch of bread.

T - Starts off with some big citrus and grapefruit hops with some good bitterness and a bit of caramel malts. Through the middle some more bitterness comes through with some light bready malts. The finish adds a bit of pine with some good bitterness and sweet caramel malts lingering.

M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.

D - Very drinkable. Really nice hop profile with some good strong bitterness throughout.

I felt this beer was similar to a Two Hearted. The hop profile and the body both reminded me of Bell’s IPA. It pours a warm malty-amber color with large foaming. There’s a light hoppy aroma dominated by orange peel. The flavor has an upfront bitterness with a orange note and some piney-green finish. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from it and certainly not to like it so much. A pleasant, pleasing surprise!
