22 oz bottle poured into a tulip

A- A very hazy bright golden color with a two finger white head that fades very quickly.

S- Tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, dank, some pine, great complexity.

T- Citrus, grapefruit, grapefruit rinds, hints of topical fruit/pineapple upfront, great bitter piney and dank hops finish, all coming to together with a nice light bready malt backbone.

M- Smooth, crisp, dry, medium body.

O- A very nice IIPA and very easy to drink. The only thing I don't like about this beer is the price, I paid $16 for a 22 oz.

Bottle purchased at Acme Bar and Pizza in Rochester, NY. This bottle retails for 16.99 at local stores around here- how is it $10 at Acme?

Pours an opaque hazy orange. Lots of residue in this one. 1 inch head, really good lacing down the glass.

Smells incredible. Stuck my nose in the bottle first, then the glass- pungent aromas of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon.

Similar flavor. Unbelievably juicy. All of the fruits mentioned above, with some nice herbal piney qualities that leave a nice, but not lingering, bitterness on the palate at the end of each sip. When I smelled and tasted this one, it honestly reminded me of Heady Topper- this is the first time that's happened since I had HT.

Medium bodied, crisp, low-to medium carbonation. Very drinkable, the 22 oz went down too easy.

Amazing find here, this was one of the best IPAs I've ever had.

22oz bottle served in a Dogfish Head goblet;

A - appearance bright cloudy yellow like a Hefeweizen / minimal head with fine bubbles.

S - large hoppy aroma w/ citrus presence. hints of a sweet honey smell.

T - floral hop start, light swet honey in the body and big floral aftertaste. hoppiness not overpowering for a DIPA (8%).

M - light body, creamy and easy drink ability.

O - unique in the sense of having a different combination of flavor, scent, body and creaminess i've never had in a DIPA before.

Bomber enjoyed in a pint glass

A: Strange cloudy funky yellow/orange with almost a light green hue at the edge of the glass. Really looks like grapefruit juice. Very little head but some lacing stayed on the side all the way down.

S: Bright pungent citrus notes--literally felt the juices start flowing in my mouth.

T/M: Very interesting--big upfront hop bite with citrus all the way with grapefruit and a little lemon but then as you take it to the back, a bit of a pine note. Not much malt. Really different from most IPAs but close in feel to a Heady. Light, dry finish.

O: Interesting--a rarity around my parts that I thoroughly enjoyed. Looks and tastes a bit like someone literally put juice in an IPA. Pricey but worth it for the experience. Recommended.

Poured from bottle into a snifter

Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy orange amber color with a nice two finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is huge of a grapefruit hop smell mixed with tons of wheat. Along with these aromas are some lighter notes of a yeasty smell bringing along with them some notes of clove and coriander. Lemon peel and a bit of bread round out the smell, overall producing a thick hoppy bread smell.

Taste – The taste begins thick with tons of wheat bread tastes along with a strong yeast cake showing. Straight from the start there is a big hit of a grapefruit hop. The grapefruit really picks it up as the taste moves on with it becoming more and more bitter. All the while the grapefruit picks up a light pine companion, helping bring a bit of more resinous hop flavor to the brew. Throughout the taste some lighter spice flavors develop on the tongue with the wheat growing even more potent and a bit grainier. In the end, with all the flavor transitions that occur, one is left with a thick and wheaty rather heavily grapefruit bitter taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The thickness is quite nice for all the wheaty flavors of the brew with the moderate carbonation rather nice for balancing the brew and hop, all the while keeping it quite drinkable. Overall the feel was well done.

Overall – A nice thick and chewy wheat IPA overall. While not quite worth the price it was well worth a try.
