Notes/Commercial Description:
While harnessing the simple splendor that is Stillwater, for this remix of Premium I have called on an abundance of Amarillo hops. The aim is to bring you on an expedition through the jungle.

Pours slightly hazed & effervescent gold with 3 fingers of pearl white head. Good head retention & lacing

S: Breadyness, lemons, grapefruit

T: Lemons, slight yeastiness & some breadyness, plus a little grapefruit up front. Some pear & pineapple as this warms, grapefruit is stronger as this warms, plus dryness. Finishes dry with a nice citrus & floral hop flourish, some peppery notes as well

MF: Medium bodied, slight carbonation, good balance

Drinks pretty easy, nice for the style, but at this price, it is a one & done...

Pours a hazy light straw color with a thick HUGE head with moderate lacing. Citrus fruits and light sweet malts on the nose. A lot going on for a "post colonial style ale" in the saison family. Excellent single hop style beer with Amarillo hops to the front giving a fantastic light citrus like bodied flavor and mildly sweet aftertaste, dry but not off putting. One of the best single hopped beers I have tried. An A plus and this coming from one who is far from a hop head. Cheers.

Sample at Max's on 4/28/14 (from notes)

A: Lacing. Hazy, light straw colored.

S: Lightly hopped.

T: Flavorful, with a slightly sweet funk to it.

M: Smooth, with tiny bubbles. Good body overall.

O: Good, sessionable and easy to drink. I love Omnipollo, but this is not worth the $15 for a bottle.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, pale straw amber with a massive, nearly half glass white head from an easy pour; a bit overcarbonated. Aroma of mixed tropical and citrus fruit, saison style yeast, citrus hops, slight earthiness. If I poured a tropical fruit profile IPA into a saison, this is what I would expect it to smell like. Flavor is dry citrus rind and bretty saison yeast, odd faint bready and grassy flavors on the edge of the tongue, drying out a bit more as the flavors fade in the finish to a lingering citrus rind and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodie with peppery active carbonation. The flavor is quite different than the aroma, with little of the tropical fruit hop and malt influence. Basically a citrus hopped saison, lots of interesting lemon and grapefruit juice and rind flavors with the slightly wild saison yeast as support. Not quite my style, and not really an American blonde ale (very little American malt flavors detectable here), but a refreshing citrus saison that holds interest with its variety of flavors in the citrus family, particularly some nice fresh lemon taste.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white white head that died down, but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of funk are present in the nose along with strong notes of lemony hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and starts out with some funkiness from the brett and is followed by lemony hops. The brett stands out in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a relatively good balance between the brett and the lemony hops.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy but very light yellow color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains spices, Belgian yeast, light caramelized malts, citrus and a good amount of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of Belgian yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then a strong spiciness quickly comes in followed by sweet flavors of bananas and citrus. The hops presence is strong but not over-powering and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry but slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, it’s a solid beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for a spicy pale Belgian-style ale.

On-tap at Pinocchio's Pizza in Media, PA.

A: Pours an opaque, hazy pale lemon with a bleach white head that retains nicely throughout the entire experience. Lots of delicate white lacing left down the glass.

S: Spicy notes with a bit of lemon zest, orange peel, and some grapefruit and pineapple from the hops. As complex as the nose is, it's a bit on the clean side and I had to take huge whiffs to pick up specifics. Would be nice if it had been a little stronger.

T: A harmony of those fruity flavors I picked up in the nose. Lots of lemon and grapefruit provide a citric profile, with some underlying bready malt sweetness. Finish is mostly spice and fruit.

M: A medium body with an overall light and effervescent presence in the mouth. Relatively smooth going down and finishes relatively dry. This one finished a little too dry to be refreshing. I immediately asked for a glass of water afterwards.

O: Overall, a satisfying brew with some interesting and enjoyable flavors. The nose and mouthfeel leave a bit to be desired, but I don't regret taking the opportunity to experience it.
