Pours a very pale yellow. Scent is stone fruit and melon. Interesting profile, I get watermelon, honeydew, and mango. Finishes citrus sharp. I generally stay regional, but this is fantastic

From the bottom of the can: "04/10/23 08:19"
Appearance: The beer is completely opaque. It has a pale manilla envelope color. It has a large fluffy white head with medium-sized bubbles. The head is slightly off-white in color. It has a standard New England IPA appearance with a better than average head formation and head retention. There is excellent lacing on the glass.
Aroma: There is a light aroma of grapefruit with hints of lemon zest.
Taste: Grapefruit comes through up front. Towards the middle of the palate it picks up a dusty old chocolate bar flavor, similar to when it gets waxy after siting on a shelf for a while. A light bit of spruce and some more grapefruit character towards the back of the mouth. The aftertaste is a lighter version of spruce and grapefruit.
Mouthfeel: The hop bitterness is in the medium range and takes on a citrus-like bitterness similar to eating bitter grapefruit or blood orange. Although the beer looks like a New England IPA it has more bitterness than what a NEIPA would traditionally have. The bitterness works well with the beer. It has a body that sits on the lower edge of medium. There is some light texture to the beer.
Overall: The can simply states "INDIA PALE ALE." The beer is a bit of a mix between a New England IPA in appearance and a somewhat traditional IPA in bitterness. It has this weird waxy chocolate bar flavor which sometimes comes from newer hop varieties, but there is a decent amount of grapefruit. I probably wouldn't drink it over other IPA options but I wouldn't turn it down either. Recommendation-wise it is pretty neutral; try it if it's available but I wouldn't seek it out.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Cloudy yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pine, spruce and citrus. Hoppy flavour, slightly dry, notes of citrus and tropical fruits followed by a resinous bitterness.

Pours an opaque, orange-y yellow colour. A three inch thick head emerges of tightly packed bubbles that form into a rocky, creamy one inch head that lasts the entire beer. Pardon this overdone language, but it looks like a liquid creamsicle in my can. Forgot about the sediment at the bottom, so when I finished the pour, thick swirls of unfiltered goodness swirled around in the opaque liquid, slowly twirling and falling down. Wow
Smell is mango, mango, and did I mention mango? You’ll smell it the second you pop the can. You’d be forgiven for thinking they just straight up added mango juice in here. Pineapple is also present, general tropical fruits with a gentle citrus fruit background and mildly spicy, earthy, aromatic hops.
Taste is deliciously mild but subtle and complex. There is an absolutely great backbone of wheaty breads and malty flavours that add sweetness to the whole thing. This really brings out the pineapple and mango fruity forward taste of this beer. Earthy tastes swirl in the background before evening out into a general wheaty bread finish. Gentle bitter pine notes linger here as well. Spritzes of grapefruit throughout
I’d say this is pretty medium bodied. Resinous and yet fairly creamy feel to the beer, likely thanks to the oats, gives it a real great feel. Looks more carbonated than it is, the tiny bubbles coalesce in your mouth and foam up to give a very creamy sip. Gently sweet and bitter on the finish, more juicy than dry.
Surprised at the vast disparity in some reviews, 1’s overall up to 4.5 overalls. Not sure what’s happening, either a style preference mismatch or perhaps some sort of issue with a batch that was brewed under license? Either way, hard to get behind it being weak on the nose or excessively bitter. I’m by no means a hop maniac, and this was very well balanced without egregious bitterness. It was also impressive on the nose as well. Always good to drink your IPAs as fresh as possible to keep those aromatics strong!
I’ll be honest, I’m 1000% surprised at how delicious, amazing, and balanced this is. While this is tropical fruit forward in taste and aroma, multiple other flavours in the background mix and mingle and with the delicious mouthfeel, make for an incredibly compelling drink. This is the first non-malty beer/IPA that’s going on my permanent restock list. I doubt many beer drinkers, if any IPA drinkers, allow as much sediment in their pour as I do. I recommend trying it at least once, or trying it if you didn’t like the beer the first time. I suspect the sediment brought out the malty background and balanced the flavours while tempering some of the more overt tropical flavours to produce a particularly delicious, less thin, creamy bitter-sweet beer. For me, it was absolutely mouthwatering!
