To start, thanks go to Scott for plopping this one in my fridge to try.
22oz bomber to two pours into Delirium Tremens glass.
Bottle Graphics: 2/10.

A: The bottle reads tripel but listed on here as belgian strong ale. It looks more like a tripel and a plain one. Light copper color with a tiny white head that drifted off.

S: Earthy smell mixed with some kind of detergent and fragrance. There is some fruitiness when hunted for but a real plain metallic aroma did not set things off so well.

T: Pretty straightforward. Not much Belgian about it, more grassy than most and a burnt malt flavor that doesn't fit. Considerably better when it was cold and masked the flaws. Candi sugar is revealed but I can't locate the banana, pear or any real fresh fruit I was hoping for. Sweetness, buttered popcorn sweetness, not so nice.

An improvement from the smell but nothing phenomenal but a step in the right direction.

M: Best aspect of the beer. Complete body with a snappy, dry finish.

D: Drinkability is alright- more a tripel as the bottle says. There is no burn or unpleasantness per se, but also nothing that has me eager to grab another 22oz.

Pours a one-finger cream head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving traces lace. Hazy amber color, ton of yeast left in bottle. Medium-strong carbonation and medium bodied. Spicy caramel nose and flavor is similar. Higher ABV is hidden. $3.65 for a 12oz bottle from Bert's Better Beers Hooksett NH.

Nice, full bodied...subtly spiced...exquisite with cinnamon sugared rim! Thought I would try as an Xmas treat, was not disappointed...9.00% alcohol bot does not hit you over the head...flows smoothly to send you into a sweet place! I would most definitely recommend this beer for special occasions

A - Pours slightly cloudy with a dark straw, almost orange, hue and and a quickly dissipating head

S - Fruity on the nose, mainly tropical, with mango and pineapple being the most prominent aromas along with the notes of the esters from the Belgium yeast. The spiciness that I am use to with this style was not apparent over the fruitiness of the nose.

T- The dominate tropical notes continue into the flavor of the beer with the addition of pear as well as some spicy undertones of white pepper and possibly a touch of clove. A present tartness typical of the style rounds out the finish.

M - Medium body with a lack of carbonation ends up providing an underwhelming mouthfeel for this style.

O - Overall the body and carbonation falls flat while the tropical flavor overwhelms any delightful spiciness and limits the depth of flavors I expected with this style.

A: The beer is rather hazy golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with some small particulates floating in suspension. It poured with a thin head that quickly dissipated, leaving only some lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of fruity yeasts are present in the nose—pears stand out in particular—along with hints of alcohol and spices.
T: The taste has flavors of pears and pineapples along with slight hints of alcohol and peppery spices.
M: It feels a little more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't that bad but lacks interesting aromas or flavors. It's rather drinkable and hides its alcohol relatively well considering the strength.

Date tasted: June 28, 2013... Glassware: Affligem chalice... Occasion: O's defeat Sabathia--a good day of work too....Appearance: slowly simmering bubbles populate a thinly cloudy white head on a copper golden body--not impressive or noteworthy... Aroma: tight, strong citric push; a bit malty and hints at the 9..0% ABV already... Palate: intense, throast-scorching finish early; full-bodied and thick with some fizz... Taste: a grapefruit pucker and some grainy flecks of alcoholic weight--a nameless warming flavor pervades... Overall: Surprisingly, this beer mellows halfway through thee glass; still retains its weight but allows for easier drinking; the profile, though, is effected and does not stand much for making a memorable experience--a serviceable tripel that is probably a bit below its price point in terms of quality....
