In DC for the fourth of July weekend. Picked up a 6'er at a local shop (recent dates).
A- A nice medium golden IPA. From the can its crystal clear with a nice white head that slowly fades.
S- Smells slightly herbal but not as much as I was hoping for from such a Columbus forward beer.
T- I have had countless IPA's that taste like this (and you can tell its Columbus heavy!). Not super danky, but quite herbal to say the least. No overlying sweetness from crystal and some residual grassy bitterness on the finish. Its not on the top of the heap nor anywhere near the bottom of the barrel. With that said, Its really well made, solid overall, and quite tasty! But this IPA could get lost in a shelf of other choices. At $11 for a 6 pack I can think of others I would pick. That being said, if it were a little cheaper, this would compete at a QPR all day long!
M- Nicely carbed, smooth. Nothing that I would note other than that.
O- Glad I tried it. After having some of DC Brau's beers at ACBF, I wanted to try more. This is a solid effort. B/B+. I think anyone should give this one a go!
