Notes/Commercial Description:
The Corruption™ IPA is DC Brau's take on a Pacific Northwest IPA. Brewed with Pale 2 row, C-10, Honey and Victory malts. Exclusively hopped with 40 lbs of Columbus hops per brew to ring in at 80 IBU. "The Corruption" comes in at 6.5% ABV. This beer straddle's the line between IPA and Imperial IPA and has a supportive malty backbone with an assertive hop presence that smacks your mouth with a dank, resinous bitterness followed by pleasant aroma's of pine sap and burnt spruce.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass. Pours reddish amber with a nice fluffy white head. Smels of flowery hops with nice citrus notes. Tastes of piney and earthy hops, very nice combo with just enough bite. Beer is light bodied a tad heavily carbonated but still finishes well. Overall a very good beer.

A: A dense finger of off white head formed in the tulip glass. Dark copper to mahogany in color beer with a light haze. Good head retention and nice lacing as the beer fell into the liquidd

S: Huge pine aroma, think spruce trees. Notes of tropical candy peek through the pine, like skittles. Subtle toasty malt character is detected also.

T: Firm tropical fruit hop bitterness followed by a tittle wave of pine. The pine follows through to the end and dominates most of the pallet from there on but evolves to a more dank/dark flavor.. if that makes sense. The malt profile doesn't quite support the hop bill there is a toasty flavor detected.

M: Moderate body and carbonation. A lingering hop oil slickness is left on the pallet after a few sips.

O: If I was to summaries this beer in one word it would be 'Pine'. I would have liked a bit more malt character and some diversity in the hop flavors, but it was a flavorful beer non the less.
