Pours a murky redish brown with a finger of light brown head. Minimal lacing/beading.

Very malty on the nose - definite nutmeg, pumpkin, squash, some cinnamon, caramel, quite a bit going on here.

Tasty stuff. Usually this style is restricted to the autumn months and it is refreshing to get this robust profile in early May. Full bodied, obvious spice, yet approachable. Some bright fruits linger on the afertaste.

Overall, this is a style that, honestly, I wish had a year round presence. I can see why people confine it too a certain season though as it definitely fits the bill.

Light pumpkin spice, nice dark beer base. If more pumpkin beers followed this path I might enjoy them more.

This had a huge foamy brown head that coalesced to a thick cap above a deep porter brown body.

The nose has some tell tale spices like nutmeg, brown sugar, and cinnamon with a pulpy gourdish pumpkin.

The flavor was starchy with a protein like malt. There was a lot of pumpkin pulp with brown sugar and a spicy black licorice.

The feel was light, velvety and very crisp.

This was definitely a different take on a pumpkin beer and it ends with a lot of success.
