Style | ABV
American Double / Imperial IPA |  9.20% ABV

Availability: Rotating

Notes/Commercial Description:
OTWOA is a single hop beer utilizing Falconers Flight. Brewed with just enough Pale malt, Cara-60, CaraPils and Malted wheat to carry the intense hop character onto the pallet.

At first glance, it has an orange hue in the glass with a viscus, rocky head that refuses to dissipate. Upon first sniff there are dominate aromas of citrus, white grapes and grapefruit with light bread and biscut notes. After the first sip we taste a mellow bitterness that only grows as more is consumed. Moderately carbonated, deceptively smooth, refreshingly dry and extremely heady for a beer at 9.2% ABV.

OTWOA exhibits all the necessary traits to be revered as a world class Imperial IPA.

A: Poured into a tulip glass with moderate heat the foam built a two finger slightly yellowish off white head composed of mixed sized bubbles. Retention was long and it left chunks of bubbles on the edge of the glass. The liquid is a murkey dark amber with a noticable amount of sediment formed at the bottom.

S: Strong tropical melons, honey dew, watermelon and strawberry with some dank pine resin in the background. Darker fruit malt character peeks through the massive hop nose in the way of raisins and stone fruit. Some toast also present.

T: A firm tropical fruit, melon bitterness that evolves over the pallet into over ripened mango and strawberry flavors combined with the underlying pine. The malt profile detected in the nose is all but lost in the taste but there is a slight breadiness that keeps the beer from being all hops.

M: A nice creamy mouthfeel with this beer. Moderate carbonation and body. A slight bit of alcohol warming sensation, but this beer is dangerously drinkable at 9.2%

O: Right up there with HT and PtE but with a different hop profile. Not sure how fresh the can I had was but the only complaint I had was there was no canned on date.

Poured a light copper body with lace rings down the glass. An earthy, funky citric hop aroma with minimal sweet malts. Smooth, very hoppy of the citric variety along with a crisp, dry finish. The beer is balanced, not too hoppy, thanks to a little bit of grape flavors from hops as well and touches of bready/caramel sweetness. Overall, a well-balanced and designed IPA that is a great sipper.
