A: Slightly cloudy, orange/copper color. Nice 2 finger frothy head. Nice retention.
S: I get a lot of melon (honeydew, watermelon) upfront then some grapefruit, pine and caramel undertones. Some grass on the back end but not bad.
T: Strong melon (honeydew, watermelon) then some pine and resin. Nice lingering hop flavor and some bready malt to back it up. Something uniquely different for me, like it.
M: Dry, medium carbonation. Lingering bitterness.
O: A nice intro to this brewery for me, really interested honeydew flavor I haven't gotten before. Wouldn't mind having on a nice summer day despite the ABV lol.

Yay canned beer, just as large impending storm is about to crush us, this seemed like an apt beer, thanks to elbrooksie (reddit).
Pours a nice creamy fizzy 1 finger head that fades semi slowly with nice high water mark of a creamy lacing, fairly hazy honey orange color.
Nose explodes with hops, some mild citrus candied orange peel, little tropical fruit with grapefruit, hint of mango, papaya, hint of melon and fruity bubblegum, little tangerine even, into a mild spicy earthy chewy hop profile and floral hops as well, with a fairly big malt base that seems a bit sweet and candy like.
Taste starts with big hops again, spicy and chewy at first with big bitterness, into that citrus again, juicy as hell too. Citrus brings more orange juice and candied orange peel, little zest and grapefruit rind, mild melon and bit of tropical fruit also bringing a little mango and papaya. Also a touch of dank resin in the hop profile. Malts bring fair sweetness to balance the big hop bitterness, little candy and toasty reddish malts mostly. Finish dries a bit and gets very bitter, a little tangerine juice comes through before the crazy spicy chewy hops take over, bit astringent almost and salty earthy like too, and a touch of sticky malt.
Mouth is med to fuller bod, just a touch of warming booze mostly hidden, nice carbonation too.
Overall pretty nice DIPA, best beer from DC Brau by far. Good bitterness, nice balance, booze hidden well, good hop and malt profile, enjoyable.
