Poured on tap into a nonic pint glass at Meridian Pint. Originally had samples of this on Armageddon release day and was really impressed and needed to make a mental note to revisit this one. From notes.

A cloudy but orb glowing murky yellow, with lots of green hues all throughout the glass. The brew is topped with a half finger of head that is exceptionally creamy looking and bright white.

The nose absolutely rips of fresh fleshy grapefruit hop profile. Sticky yeasty mild funk farmhouse a tad, and a good hint of sweet milky cream. Hints of pepper and spices also. It's a really nice balance, but the grapefruit really takes off.

Palate brings all the goodness hinted on the nose. This really tastes like a perfect grapefruit hop beverage. Literally fresh squeezed in the morning. Quenching juicy hop palate with a hint of wet, and mild powdery funk sense. The hop angle brings out even hints of mango, and even manages to finish crisp with some dense malts, and peppery spice.

Overall this is just a great new creation from these guys, this one really shocked me I was not expecting it to be this good, but it is.

Appearance: Arrives with a honey color verging on golden; the head leaves some strands of lacing behind as it descends

Smell: Grapefruit and spicy Belgian yeast esters

Taste: A clean malt bill highlights the citrusy hops and the Belgian yeast with the yeast adding a peppery dimension after the swallow; well-attenuated finish

Mouthfeeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: One of the best examples of the Belgian IPA style I have encountered, this is another winner for DC Brau

Big thanks to BA Kegatron for splitting this growler with me. Poured into a snifter, it appears a clouded yellow color with a white head that fades leaving spotty lacing on the glass.

The aroma includes a yeasty note of bubblegum with a contrasting herbal citrus hop aspect that gets a little rindy to grassy. As it warms up, more of the focus changes back to that preciously mentioned yeasty spice feel.

The flavor is a bit rindy from the hops. The flavor gets somewhat similar to breakfast fruits/pulp and earth to grassy bitterness. There is a soft amount of grain presence but for the most part, the focus of this brew is on the hops and yeast spice.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. The alcohol was integrated well in this. Belgian IPA's are somewhat finicky. I think the yeast profile often clashes with any moderate hopping rate. In this case it wasnt bad and quite frankly I would probably try this again if the opportunity presented itself.

From a growler poured into a DC Brau can glass.

Appearance: Very light and very hazy straw color with a thick pillowy two finger white head. Dense 1/4" head retention lacing throughout.

Aroma: Citrusy hops with a slight tropical twist. Lemongrass, peppery spice and some farmhouse funk.

Taste: Citrusy and yeasty up front. Pineapple, grapefruit and lemon zest all come to mind before it picks up a little with some hints of Belgian funk and a spicy peppery and bready yeast finish. Very clean flavors, finish is

Mouthfeel: A little lighter than medium yet packs considerable carbonation and an aggressive hop profile and Belgian spice. In other words, it's very drinkable but has huge flavors.

A-Jaded straw color. Big, fluffed head, even for a 2 oz. sample in a plastic cup. The body is hazy but it still manages to glow.

S-Interesting nose. The yeast, in accordance with the chipper malt unique hoppiness makes for a nice scent. The veggies are a mixture of Euro noble hops and intricate, bold U.S. varieties if I were to guess.

T-Hoppy and multifaceted. Yeasty and spicy with a great, airy, sweetened cracker malt. The hops are neat. Pineapple hops, citrus with a certain tangy element, and some grass. Pretty cool.

M-Drinks easy. Maybe a bit too aggressive on the carbonation. Slick feel. A bit resinous and moderately bitter.

O/D-It had some great elements but for some reason I wasn't very enamored with it. There was a ton to enjoy here but I oddly didn't find myself enjoying it as a whole.
