Had on draft at Pizza Paradiso, DuPont Circle in Washington, DC
A: moderate head; clear dark amber; moderate carbonation; very good lacing
S: yeasty, malty aroma; very inviting; wow, this aroma deserves a 5.5
T: outstanding saison; mosaic dry-hopped rye saison; sweet, fruity; tastes boozier than it is

Really fantastic collaboration; get some while you can, because this may not last.

Collaboration beer with Stillwater.

Pours a clear brownish amber, good carbonation.

Smell is sweet with alot of citrus, banana, tropical notes, starfruit.

Taste is balanced. Banana is the biggest thing I taste. A little bit of bubblegum, citrus fruit, pepper, a little spice and herb finish.

Mouthfeel is very nice, light and crisp.

This is a very interesting beer, not sure how many of these I could drink in a row, but very good if only have one or two beers.

Poured on tap at Meridian Pint DC. From notes.

A very deep orange and red amber body, very unique looking color, with a slight off tan to fading white colored head, creamy, and thin carbonation. Good amount of lacing while drinking.

Very impressive nose. Nice floral notes, and some mint and grapefruit hop action. Lots of things going on here with a super juicy fruity sense and quality. Malts round out with some light brown sugar.

Palate is very hop forward. Light toasty brown sugars, hints of some maple like character as well on first sip. Hop angle continues with lots of citrus grapefruit, and some spicy character. Slight spritzy mouthfeel and tight carbonation at points, with a solid malt and hop angle to carry the palate forward. Fills all the crevices in the mouth easily.

This is a big colaboration rye saison with a whole gammut of "stuff" it seems thrown in. THe result is actually one of the better rye tasting beers I've had, even though it doesn't seem to have much of the saison character or quality. No complaints.

The beer itself is a clear ruby red with slight hints of brown. The beer pours a slight brownish head that dissipates quickly and the lacing is the same color.

The beer's smell is more grainy than hoppy but the hops tend towards the earthy side. There are also hints of rye.

The beer tastes like any other saison with earthy hops and grainy taste. However, the tongue picks a hint of rye between the main flavors. The saison taste and rye are evenly balanced that neither one overpowers the other but mix.

Medium bodied but smooth with biting carbonation.

A fairly decent rye saison and fairly balanced between the rye and the saison.

32oz brewery filled growler. Pours a crystal clear copper, with a finger sized cap of slightly off-white foam. This maintains a rich frothiness, which coats the sides of the glass with sticky swathes of lacing. The aroma smells bready, spicy, sweet and fruity, all at once. The phenolic character here gives the nose a bit of airiness in the nostrils. The taste is sweet and lightly fruity on the edges, balanced by the dryness of the rye and a firm citric bitterness. Peppery spices are scattered throughout, lingering in the finish along with some pithy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a firm, almost crisp creaminess to the carbonation. It’s also fairly slick on the edges, making this a very smooth drinking Saison. This was very nice. The flavors had a nice flow to them and it was extremely quaffable for the style. They nailed this one!

Served in a pint glass at Lost Dog Café/Arlington.

An excellent beer but too far out of style, too spicy, too hoppy. I will drink this again, but I now know what to expect.

A – A dark clear amber. Bartender poor did not give me a good sense of the head.

S – Some typical saison funk, spice, but not much else.

T – A spicy, hoppy saison.

MF – A medium bodied beer, probably a bit too heavy for a saison.
