This is a neat newish beer bar brought to you by the good guys of Spoetzl. It is probably obvious that I don't think Shiner is the best beer available, but this is a cool 100 year old soda shop turned restaurant and bar.

The bar area is really impressive. A huge antique wood bar and high ceilings. To the right is a bigger dinning area. Full of old pictures and nicknacks. The service is prompt and fairly knowledgeable.

Maybe 10 taps in all. About five are Shiner products, which you would expect. Though the other half is other Texas breweries. Karbach, Saint Arnold, Real Ale, and even Austin Beer Works. This might be the furthest south ABW can be found. Bottles is a bit of everything. Jester King, Stone, Anchor, more Texas breweries. I am not sure if beers move that fast here though. They still had some Hop Delusion on.

Food is Texas comfort food. Steaks, sandwiches, salads. I went with the chicken fried steak. Which came with mashed potatoes and toast. A big cut of steak, and the batter is really good. A bit to salty, but what would you expect? Overall a very good lunch.

Of coarse not the best beer bar ever. Though a nice spot in the small downtown area and town to grab a beer. I would be a regular here if I lived in the area.
