Cedar Creek is another one in the line of the "creek" bars (Onion Creek and Dry Creek being the first two in Houston). The location is great; it's wooded and has an outdoors feel, which is pretty unique for Houston. In the colder seasons, they burn cedar wood from their outdoor fire pit which adds a positive feel to the outdoor seating experience.
It is usually packed, which is the major downfall of the place. Although it strives to be a hipster bar, the Friday and Saturday crowds make it seem like your typical midtown bar.
The food is great. I recommend the fried pickles and their bison burger.
Their beer selection is decent. They do a pretty good job of housing a handful of craft beers and alternating their selection frequently.
Overall, it's a good place, but go early to beat the crowd and get a table. (816 characters)

This is the sister bar to Onion Creek. Walking in from the parking lot, I have to cross a bridge over a little creek (I wonder were they got the name). There is a huge patio outside that kind of snakes around the entire establishment, and along the creek. Inside is big and cavernous as well. High cealings and a long L shaped bar. Lots of tables outside and in. Though pretty much every seat was taken when I visited. Really crowded and overbarring loud music is playing inside. I love the outdoor seating, but way to busy.

The service is knowledgable, but a bit annoying. Every time someone oders a Stella, the bartenders yell "Stella" in there best Brando.

They have an extensive menu of pub food. A bit more here than at Onion Creek. Burgers of all kinds, pizza, other pub staples as well. Not bad at all.

The quality seems fine. Everything is served in a shaker pint. The selection is much the same as Onion Creek. A handful of BMC and the like. Though plenty of Saint Arnold, Real Ale, and Stone. They had killed a keg of DR 11 the night befor I visited. You will be able to find something to drink.

I wish this place was less crowded and loud. Though overal, a good spot for a beer and a meal. If you like Onion Creek give it a visit for a change of pace. (1,266 characters)
