Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a bronzed golden to yellow color with a steady finger's worth of white foamy head that dissipated mildly. Sliding messy lace.
The aroma had some floral to light citrusy hops playing with a steady sweet biscuit malt bill.
The flavor was moderately sweet pulling in a grabbing bitterness really starting to come forth more as it warmed. Light aftertaste of the citrusy/floral hops playing with the malt bill.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation actually seemed a bit off, slightly under but didn't leave any cloying effects. ABV felt appropriate. Mild hop bitter harshness.
Overall, for an AIPA, it works, I could come back to this if offered.

This is a nice one, a lighter version of Hardcore Chimera if you like (and not vice versa).
Quite pleasing to drink this Chicago (East Coast style) IPA, that gives you a rather crisp, somewhat carbonated but altogether very enjoyable beer. Goes very well with early summer afternoons and evenings when you are ready for more and willing to spend the night out in the open.
In a way it is also valid for this IPA, although it is a proper one on its own. Still, it gives you enough boost and the need for perhaps the Hardcore Chimera if you're looking for more. With its zesty and rather piney flavors it hits you right and the body has just enough malt to keep it from being too dry, somewhere on the borderline. Being only 6% in ABV though, it feels as if it was greater.
All in all, an instant classic. As amazing as its big brother was. Recommended for everyone who is looking for a great time with a beer.

Light gold with a very serious head and lacing. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit. Taste follows the nose but it's well balanced with a solid and somewhat sweet malt backbone. A bit of hop bite as it finishes. Texture is both crisp and creamy. I love Hardcore Chimera from Finch's and oddly enough, it's disappeared from my Chicago neighborhood. This, which I'd never seen, popped up recently. Glad to see it and I'll look for it in the future.

Pours a light golden yellow. Huge head. Great retention and lacing. Nose is a light blend of lemon and citrus zest and bready malt. Taste follows, lemon zest, and a ton of floral, grassiness. Clean, crisp body. Dry finish.

I bought a can of the Chimera off the Binnys single shelf. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of bitterness and leaned a bit floral. The taste is also leans bitter and I'm tasting clove and hint of banana....almost like a Belgian white ipa. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a very small head of foam. It smelled of citrus, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet caramel with a piney/citrusy bitterness.

I'm a big fan of Fascist Pig but was obviously expecting something very different from Chimera. Love the can design, Iron Maiden font is on point. Smells a bit floral with some with some citrus interspersed. Taste follows nose and while the hoppy, juicy profile diminishes as you drink, the dry mouthfeel and tasty finish round things off in dazzling fashion. Definitely feels like it could be higher than 6%, but it would be dangerous if it were any higher. Finch's know what they are doing no question about it.

Out of date by 2 months.. yet still very good. Not a huge IPA fan.. and i expect the hops have faded a bit due to the age. But it was very tasty. Alot of grapefruit on the nose, as well as some pine and a suprising amount of malt smell. Taste was malty for an IPA, I chalk that up to the age but it worked for me. Would like to taste a fresher one for reference but i quite enjoyed this one.

I must add that the lacing on this was stunning. Hence the five for looks.
