Notes/Commercial Description:
Finch's Pale Ale is a refreshing experience from the pop of the top. Its fresh and hoppy taste with just enough supporting malt makes it easy to kick back more than just one. Our late kettle additions of American hop varieties and dry hopping techniques make this beer one of our favorites. The citrus hop character balanced with a malty backbone creates a delicious, accessible pale ale that is sure to satisfy with every sip. Enjoy this pale with just about any pairing of your choice.

Finch's Beer Co. another brewery that comes out of no way in Chicago here. Just like the rest I will try them and see what they are making. I have to say so far the best breweries are Goose Island and Emmett's. This is a very bad beer.

The color and look, I dont' like at all. I didn't judge it so far. The head lays in my beer weird. So far iam not judging this beer.

Tasting part is a little weird. Very sweet and hoppy. I was hoping I did't taste it I am tasting onion in my beer. This is an one and done beer for me. I will never buy it again and I hope this brewery learns fast. Very bad and disappointed.

Cool can art. Thanks to Wendall for this one!

A: Pours a rather hazy orange/ruby color with a massive white head, very thick and pillowy. Great head retention with plenty of sticky lacing.

S: Rather grainy with some biscuity malt. A little bit of light citrus and floral hops.

T: A little less hoppy that the aroma (not that this is a hop bomb, by any means). A little bit of lemon and orange zest, but rather faint. A little on the boring side.

M: Light to medium bodied, flavor seems to disappear rather quickly.

O: A decent pale ale. Easy drinking, but would probably pass in the future.

Apple juice body with a thin trace of white head. Some lace.

Faintly spicy nose, some honey.

Taste has some hops, but not a lot. Some orange rind on the aftertaste (not in a great way), but mostly bitter steely hops. All right.

Feel is pretty standard. A little fluffy.

Not bad, but by no means great. Unremarkable.

The cut throat was available at the Tap House Bar and Grill in Oswego....another can formy collection. The beer poured a hazy copper orange with good carbonation that gave rise to decent head. The smell was good had nice pine and citrus (grapefruit/apricot???) notes. The taste was ok. There is a malt or someother ingredient out there that gives beer a metallic twang. I have had it in beers that come in bottles, on taps, and in cans. I don't know exactly what it is....but I dont like it. Because of this I down graded the taste and mouthfeel. In the taste there was a good flavor of hop but then this metallic twang hit. Overall it was ok....probably would be in line to buy more anytime soon.

(A) Pours a fairly clear honey golden color that is darker around the edges. Small, fine bits of sediment are evenly dispersed throughout the beer. Big foamy off white head on this that has great retention and leaves lacing.

(S) Herbal and piney first and foremost. Bitter hops, some citrus, orange peel, and some sweetness

(T) Orange and grapefruit strike first followed by a piney, herbal treatment. The hops are scattered throughout and give their usual bitterness to the backbone. Orange peel and the bitterness from the hops bring up the rear.

(M) Crisp. Medium to full bodied. Bitter.

(O) Solid brew. Kind of like the suburb's more attainable version of Daisy Cutter. A hoppier version of a pale ale for sure.

Pours an effervescent amber with 2+ fingers of cream colored head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Breadyness & biscuitty malt, plus a bit of lemon

T: Follows the nose, mineral dryness with a bit of herbal bitterness, plus a touch of aspirin up front. Chalky dryness as this warms, some pear fruittyness, plus biscuitty malt as this warms. Finishes with chalky dryness, biscuitty malt & a whisper of lemony & woody hops

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation, so-so balance

An alright APA, not a big fan of powdery dry ales , not that drinkable for my tastes. Had 4 of their beers now, not loving the house yeast strain...

Poured a nice deep clean copper with a big white head, nice lacing, looks very good, hope its not all down hill from here.

The smell is very mild with just a bit of pine and stale malt smell.

The flavor is very one dimensional, very coppery off flavor with a light bit of pine bitterness, some light caramel sweetness peaks through, but not enough to make this much better.

The mouthfeel is light with a bit of resin.

Not a good Pale, will avoid in the future.
