Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

This beer smells like fresh hops or stepping inside a brewery. That to me is worth a ton of points alone. Then again the taste is as worthy. Balanced yet the fresh beer smell for me makes this beer more than a one night stand. I personally think this deserves a higher rating...hopefully you agree.

Kind of taste like there pale ale. Much more malty that anything. Maybe it because the can was 5 months old? Big problem in craft beer and ipas need to have them fresh.

Poured out of a 16 oz can into my Dogfish IPA glass. Thick off white head with fine lacing, on top of a dark golden body. Very fruity nose, with some grape, peach and orange aromas. The first sip revealed a quick taste of citrus, followed by some malty sweetness that rapidly gives way to mild bitterness. For those of you wondering about the collaboration of Finch and Threadless, well don't search for a brewery named Threadless. It's actually a Chicago-based t-shirt company, that came up the artwork for the can.

I bought two 16 ounce cans at my local grocery store, though it is not a regularly-stocked brew. It poured very cloudy and had some sediment at the bottom. To me, it tasted quite a bit like Finch's Fascist Pig ale, which I had last fall -- noticeable hop, but balanced by malt. This beer has quite a bit less alcohol than the red ale. I would buy it again, if available, mainly because I like to have 16 ounce IPAs on hand now-and-then.
