This ‘Northwest Classic’ is a harmonious blend of our pride and our passion inspired by the rugged and gentle terrain of the Cascade Mountains. Starting with the pristine waters of Icicle Creek, we add the intense flavors and aromas of our locally grown Yakima hops, pairing the citrusy floral hop notes with a sweet-malty undertone. It’s an IPA that’s breaking the barrier between bitter and bold.

I got a can of this beer from the lobby store of the Hampton Inn in Leavenworth, WA. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had fresh bitter citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with bitter citrus hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Did not pour it out, drank it from the can, so I cant really comment on look but looking into the can, looked great. Tasted like a classic Northwest Style IPA.

This was another beer that I picked up at the Total Wine in Puyallup, Washington when I was out west a few months back. The description of this beer stated that this was a "Northwest Classic" and indeed, that was the case here as I could easily see this being a staple for those who live in the Evergreen State. If you like IPA's (and who doesn't?), then this would be worth seeking out as this was indeed something out of the Cascade Mountains.

Lovely, deep amber look to this as there was fine sediment floating in the liquid and plenty of head to top it off. Enough lacing was left behind although most of it was concentrated in the middle of my glass. Dank Yakima Hops, citrus rind, deep pine, and swamp water were in the nose as the Sweet Malt and bread fully emerged in the taste. Quite full and heavy-handed, some tropical fruit and underlying candied sweetness came through in the aftertaste as indeed, this felt like Life Savers; as so many on here have alluded to.

Starchy, sticky, and resinous, this was a beer from the left coast in every sense of the word as the amount of alcohol was spot-on. Dated 3/15 on the bottom of the can with "#BEERFROMHERE" written above it, this could have had more brightness and citrus tang to lighten it up a bit. As it was, I enjoyed this as indeed, this was a truly a cross between bitter and bold.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a tulip glass.

Look- Medium amber, slightly off white frothy head, very small particulate sediment, hazy, above average lacing and head retention.

Smell- Bready, citrus, pine resin.

Taste- Pine resin, citrus, bready, nice balance.

Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, high bitterness, creamy, moderate lingering bitterness at the finish.

Overall- A well executed West Coast IPA.

Pours an effervescent bronze with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head. good head retention & lacing

S: Pineapple, not much else

T: Pineapple, lime, green melon & breadyness up front. Pineapple and a little bit of green melon dominate as this warms along with dryness. Finishes dry with pineapple & a little peach

MF: Medium body, soft carbonation, nice balance

Easy drinker, on point for the style

Fairly dark golden-copper body, clear; nice carbonation; 1 1/2 finger thick head. Barely noticeable scent of caramel with a touch of pine resin. Decent flavor with some mild and light malt notes; hop bitterness builds slowly, coming to prominence late in the finish. Medium body yet rather flat; some crispness develops late in the game along with a mild warmth.

This can was packaged 01/16/20. It's drinkable but I would like to have a shot at a fresher version.

12oz can poured in to a nonic glass, canned on 01/16/20. Served in a nonic pint glass.

Look- Clear dark amber color. Small off-white head that recedes quickly to a ring of foam, spotty lacing. Moderate carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Citrus (grapefruit, orange and lemon), some melon, caramel malt, resinous pine and floral/spicy notes.

Taste- Similar to the aroma. Citrus, big malt and pine, lingering aggresive hoppy bitter finish. Nicely balanced.

Feel- Medium bodied, dry side and really crisp. Medium carbonation on the tongue.

O- A typical old school west coast style IPA. nothing fancy but still nice and tasty.

Got in a BIF from beertunes. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/12/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit/dough, light caramel/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit/dough, light caramel/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit/dough, light caramel/nuttiness, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Feels like Centennial, Columbus, Cascade, and Amarillo. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice sized dark/bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive classic tasting west coast style example. No complaints.

im not wild about this overall as a beer, but like, you know when you can sometimes taste terroir in water? well, thats what happens here for me, i get like snowmelt and runoff and the coldest of all waters, rich in minerals and absurdly crisp, so the fact that this is basic as they go, overly malty, lingeringly sweet and bitter at the same time, and without its own unique fingerprint of a hop profile, doesnt ruin the beer for me, in truth i just think about cold and refreshing water, which makes me like this each time i take a pull from the can. its been the darker beers that have made more of an impact for me from these guys, but this just drinks, beer for drinking, what a novel concept! it has a less exciting flavor as it warms, and it definitely lingers a little less than flattering, so drink fresh and cold and fast, but on the whole this is a solid ipa, even if it drinks a little more like a pale, some orangey sort of citrus character to the hops too. ive been up and down on icicle since their recent launch in idaho, but this is good beer, whatever they say, it drinks easy and its good. one of their best in my experience so far...

edit: a mighty similar experience from that tap as well...

22oz bottle served in pint glass. Brilliant copper in color, clear, with a nice amount of white foam. As soon as I crack the top there's a whiff of woodsy pine. This is met by a pleasant orange rind and citrus smell which is a little more interesting and out of the ordinary. Flavor is aggressively hop forward, with a piney character that borders on abrasive.

Thanks to the extreme generosity of kemoarps for this CLASSIC NW gem.
No bottle date, but this baby is gloriously fresh.
Appearance is straight up lacing. That's what impresses me more than color. Retention is great, but the lacing is downright clumpy and tempting.
Smell is straight up old school NW IPA. Its piney and citrusy. The malt comes through in an assertive, yet not overbearing way. Hops are downright floral citrus. But the malt note comes through as almost honey like.
Taste is even better than the nose. The floral citrus notes dance with a honey malt sweetness. Moves gently toward piney in a most graceful way. Shared with 4 other people, and ALL were very impressed.
Mouthfeel is spot on for style. Light to moderate in feel. Carbonation comes along for the whole ride. Good feel.
Overall, the consensus is...a great representation of an old school NW IPA.
