Gueuze-a-palooza 10/8/11; poured into an E&J Cask & Cream glass
Cork noted as REF A x 2010
A) Hazy, golden yellow. Cloudy since my pour was close to the end of the bottle. Specks of sediment suspended throughout. Thin, bubbly head doesn't last. Ring retention.
S) Damp, funky aroma. Musty notions of cheese and basement. Perhaps even a tad moldy. Had a slight acidic, sour twang but this gives way to the funk. Earthy, woody, swampy and dusty.
T) Tangy and pretty sour, especially upfront. Ripe with tart fruit tones, hints of grapes and snappy apples. Dry, funky finish. Very, very dry.
M) Medium-light feel. Appropriately active carbonation keeps it moving. Funky residuals.
D) Nice and nippy without being overbearing.
