This is my first review of a gueze or lambic. I was very happy with this beer and even though I am fairly new to liking the sour beers, I think that this is one of the best I've tried.
A - Clear orange slight haze, fizzy head that lasted less than a minute and left almost no lacing.
S - Hits you the moment the cork bursts out of the bottle. Sour funky dryness that I can feel in the back of my throat. Citrus peels and the smell of an apple orchard with young sour apples and the dry grass of autumn.
T - Sharp quick and sour right as it hits my mouth. This one has quite a zip right at the beginning. In the middle, I get some citrus peels and immature apples where the peels add a good amount of dryness. then a slightly bitter finish on the back of the tongue. Very clean aftertaste, a bit of bitter grapefruit is left in the mouth but not for long.
M - Leaves the mouth clean and dry. Very fizzy and light bodied. A bit gassier than I generally like but this makes it a fantastic palette cleanser that works out well as an aperitifs or between courses. Gave me a nice but mild mouth sweat.
D - Refreshing and easy to drink. Low alcohol (5%) gives you the option of drinking a couple and feeling fine.

Bottle poured at Tipples Rare and Barrel Aged Beer Tasting on July 13, 2014. Pours light yellowish gold with a small rim of white head on top. Aroma of candi sugar and mint leaves, dry, dusty, light citrus. Flavor is funky like my gym socks. Whoah. Some lemon notes, dry oakiness, and some vanilla as well here. More chewy body than other gueuzes in the class that I've had, and low plus carbonation. Nice brew overall, and a bit of a change-up from the LP Gueuze earlier in the night. Recommended.
