A - Golden, amber body with little to head.

S - Horse blanket, citrus, grass/hay barnyard, and some vinegar.

T - Dusty horse blanket, sour green apples, citrus, grainy malts, and slight oak.

M - Body was disappointing, but what I expected for a filtered gueuze.

D - Tried this one in a line up of other sours, and I wasn't too upset when my glass was finished and we moved on to the next. Still a very good beer.

Got turned on to this by a friend I met in Wallonia. Grabbed a bottle in Bruges, a matching glass, and opened it in the markt. Similar to black label, less funk, clean and delicious. Get some.

A 375ml corked and caged bottle. The cork had the words Diam DX 2016 and the number 08 on it, which I think I’ve worked it out to mean Batch D, bottled in August 2016. Poured into a Cantillon Gueuze glass.

Appearance: A clear copper orange colour with a half finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly, but settles to a thin replenishing layer with sparse lacing.

Aroma: Sour-ish, raisins, green apple, pear, vinegar, oak and hints of cheese.

Taste: Tart and lightly sour, apple cider vinegar, apple core, lemon peel, grass and oak with a sweet-ish raisin, prune like finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation.

Overall: Aroma and taste was very different to all other Gueuze’s that I’ve tried and in this case, was just not really my thing, especially the dark fruit like sweetness and apple cider vinegar. I'd just stick with the Black Label version.

375ml bottle shared at some hosers
Copper liquid, has a sour dry cereal thing going on, vinegar, brown sugar, sweet malts seem out of place, not as funky as the black label some wet wood, it’s OK but a little disappointing after the black label or maybe my palates completely wrecked by this point in the day…

37cl bottle. Clear amber with a tall off-white head. Barnyard funk, blue cheese, balsamic vinegar, apple cider, sulphur and sodium bicarbonate. A bit too sweet (that is, not dry enough) for a gueuze, but still drinkable.

2015 750ml bottle.

Thick, creamy, white head that stayed around for a few minutes, leaving behind thin lacing as it dissipated. Clear golden color. Aromas of pears, sour apples, and sweatiness along with musty wood. Taste is lemon tartness, sour grass, some oak and earthy mushrooms. Light pucker finish. Although not up there with the best in the category, it is still a solid Geuze.

This is absolutely awful. Extremely sweet to the point that it detracts from the funk, dryness and any level of sourness that are characteristic of even a decent gueuze. Didn't finish my bottle.
