Atmosphere: This place is very inviting. It has an open concept with a second level overlooking the bar. There was great music playing while I was there . All the beers are listed on a black board on the side wall of the bar and are also included in the menu.

Service: The waitress we had was knowledgeable and provided us with good service all afternoon

Selection: This bar offers a very great selection of American brews of tap with several great Belgian beer available in bottles. The tap selection included 100+ beers including some one-offs and seasonal's. Solid line-up.

Food and value: The Sandwich I had was very good and the prices were very reasonable. As for the beer, the prices were very average. This is definitely a good place to visit if you're in Boston and looking to grab something to eat and have a few good beers.

Stopped here walking around Boston pre-Extreme Beerfest. Overall, had an enjoyable afternoon trying a variety of beer.

The place had a large number of taps, including imported items (mainly Belgians as I recall). The offerings were of good quality, not all flagships, necessarily. That said, there wasn't as much new to me as I might expect. Although I am partially to blame for having tried a fair amount of different beer, another reason is that they seemed to have more major producers than smaller (even local) brewers. So they get quality at cost of selection, in my mind.

Another downer on selection is no "taster pours"; note, you can get a taste of anything for free, as should be, but if you wanted to widen your breadth of pours at a place with a huge selection, there wasn't an option without $$ and BAC coming into play.

We aren't hard to please, the service wasn't right on top of it all, but it was far from slow. We got more attention as the lunch crowd left and we started talking with the bartender about options.

I spent a lot if time in this review almost contradicting my ratings. We did thoroughly enjoy our trip to this bar. I mainly tried to point out how it didn't exceed (vs meet) expectations.

A - large beer hall. decor is to the point and a propos of why you go there. large central bar with enormous tap line. sit down areas fill the remaining space.

Q - brews were all above average to excellent.

S - wait staff was very knowledgeable of beer selection and food.

S - selection was outstanding. offered unusual beers from craft brewers that are not typically seen in beer stores or other restaurants/bars (ie - Ommegang's Sickle and Scythe).

F - in context of bar food, the food was excellent. in the context of a traditional restaurant the food was above average.

V - good value - two people eating lunch and three beers came to $40. Would come back multiple times.

Fun Fact: I don't recall there being any mead.

Fun Fact #2: Beers in Boston are a lot more expensive than I'm used to.

Fun Fact #3: They had a giant selection that was posted on a descriptive, obsessively updated list. The beers were all pricey but that's really my only complaint. There were 2-3 beers for every mood along with a healthy selection of rare and one-off taps.

Fun Fact #4: The service was nice and the atmosphere was nice like an expensive loft apartment-high ceilings, big open widows, well-dressed professionals on their way to and from nice-paying jobs.

Excellent selection of brews; very impressive that each one we ordered was served in appropriate type (and logo-branded) glassware. Food was reasonable but nothing amazing; a bit pricy.

We went on a Friday night; it was beyond amazingly loud -- almost like a dance club. Huge lines; no ability to get a beer at the bar as the bartenders were all too busy. Once we got a table after a short wait things were much better. Attentive service, especially given the crush of people.

I would not return during an expected busy period; just too loud. I'd like to go back when it would be quieter.

Excellent selection with over 100 beers on tap. The atmosphere is pleasant and very open, with high ceilings and lots of windows. There are not many TV's for watching sports. The bartenders and the wait staff are friendly and do a good job. Unfortunately, the food is very lacking. The menu is pretty small and most of the food isn't good. I hear the burger is decent, but everything else is mediocre to poor. I had the wings which were pretty average, and the hummus plate, which was ok but didn't seem that fresh. The pork sliders were lousy, very dried out and the meat was hard around the edges. All things considered, go for the beer, but eat before you go. If you must get something, stick with the appetizers.

I love and adore this place. I tend to go there for lunch at least one day a week. My company just moved into the same building where this spot is located so now I go there all the time for after work drinks. The service has always been amazing and the selection offers something for everyone. I feel very lucky to work so close to this gem.

I really thought I was going to like this place when I did a little research online before visiting Boston but I have to say I was somewhat disappointed by the atmosphere - it honestly felt like I was in an Ikea catalogue with the minimalist light wood theme. The place was busy when we visited and there was a pleasant dim of noise from the other patrons, though that almost made it difficult to hear. Probably a little more hipster crowd than I would prefer.

The beers were fresh and really well poured.

I'm sure not all of the bartenders that work here are kind of snobby/douchey but the one we had certainly was... First off it took him forever to wait on us even though we had four people with seats at the bar - in fact, we was down the other end chatting with another bartender. Once he finally came to take our order he was a little condescending and tried to explain some very basic beer things to us - like "do you understand that a stout is a dark beer?" ... I mean, do they really get that many beer neophytes coming into the place???

There was a really large selection of beers on draft and several that I had not come across even with the other places in Boston that we visited on the trip but overall it was not an amazing selection (lots of stuff on draft was stuff that is easy to find all over Boston).

Did not try any food while we were at Meadhall - actually did not see anyone else eating while we were there but that might have been related to timing since it was late afternoon but just shy of when folks might start getting dinner.

Prices were OK though a touch higher than some of the other places we went - I think the average was like $7 a beer.

First time, I had heard good things and it was right next to our hotel. It looks like I hit the jackpot with some leftovers from EBF. Our server, Matthew (on the receipt) was awesome. I was with some co-workers and explaining to them some good choices of beer and Matthew (as expected at a great beer bar) shared the beer enthusiam and helped guide everyone down the right direction.

Overall I was impressed, it was a more upscale beer bar but the prices were good. If only I could steal the keg of Vietnamese Coffee Stout from Left Hand from the backroom, it'd be straight 5's across the board.

Cool looking place, great looking tap list when we sat down. We then proceeded to order 5 beers in a row that they did not have. Their menu hadn't been updated in week. What the hell? If a beer bar pays that little attention to their menu, my first thought is, "How do they treat their lines?" Got up and left instead of being disappointed a 6th attempt to order a beer.
