Ahhh.... it's all good! People with a similar passion. Good beer!! I've always been a lover of beer. It's easy to go to any store or any restaurant/bar and find a drinkable beer. It's not as easy to find a REALLY GOOD beer. The Good Beer Store has that.

We've visited the store a couple of times. We live in North Conway and make the trip to Fryeburg to make our purchases because we know we won't be dissapointed. They have the selection we're looking for! They also have the atmosphere and service we're looking for. You can go into a generic beverage store and find something good, but will they talk to you and make you feel at home? They will at this store. Selection, selection, selection!! Service, service, service! Just tell them what you're looking for! If they don't currently carry it,they are more than willing to try and get it for you!

Stop by... you won't be sorry!!

Literally on the border of Maine/New Hampshire. Place is one huge space with a smaller room in the back for homebrew stuff. Coolers and shelves line the wall with beer. Alphabetically in the cooler was cool. Couple of nice finds, they had the Stone Coconut IPA, Mikkeller Vanilla Shake and an Old Rasputin XV. Service good have been a better as no one approached us. Staff on hand wasn`t particularly beer knowledgeable but it shows that someone knows there stuff here as it outshone by a vast margin the wines and spirits. Worth a stop for sure.

I stopped at The Good Beer Store on my way to Ebenezers. It is right on the main road that will take you there so you don't have to take a detour to get there. Definitely worth the stop here if you are passing by.

The beer selection here is very impressive, especially considering where it is located in Maine. A lot of great New England locals, and a very impressive selection of beers from Maine. An equally impressive selection of Belgian, German, and other beers for the North Eastern US. Some really good limited releases as well. In all, the selection here awesome. One of the best concentrated selections I have seen. It seemed like the inventory moved quickly too so no old dusty bottles were sitting around.

This is a very clean, and well organized store. You won't have a hard time looking around. There was one guy working there and, he kept to himself mostly. Not a big deal to me.

Overall, this store was a real treat. If I ever find myself going to Ebenezers again I will definitely stop by, and I highly recommend anyone in the area or going to Eb's to stop here.

Bob from "The Good Beer Store" was not only friendly, but extremely knowledgeable about beer. He was able to give me a good time line on when some beers could be arriving and provide me with some very unique beers which I couldn't find back home.

If you are looking for more than the typical run of the mill beers, then The Good Beer Store is your place to go. There was a great selection of many limited release beers which I have been hunting for, for quite some time.

I would recommend anyone in the area to stop by!!

Prices were reasonable, a couple bottles of Cantillon were cheap in comparison to what I would pay in MA.

Great People, Great Beer, Recommended.

The Good Beer Store has been an absolute joy to shop. NH citizens interested in seeking out craft and imported beers that are not available in NH NEED to visit this store. This is a regular stopping point on my way to Ebenezer's. The staff knows their beer. Regulars are updated on limited releases such as DFH 120, etc. All prices are reasonable. My only suggestion is that they change the name from "The Good Beer Store" to "The Great Beer Store". Keep up the good work, folks!!

Decided to stop in on the way back from camping on Lake Sebago. This was easily the most recommended store in the area. Dropped in during the week back in early August 2011.

Large and very open concrete floored room with shelves around the outside edge. Solid sized refrigerated section with a walk-in cold room. Looked like all the favourites or most popular beers were available cold.

I was able to browse around on my own, and didn't really ask any beer-related questions, but both owners (husband & wife) seemed like they genuinely enjoyed good beer, and it showed in their selection.

Fairly extensive and well stocked selection of U.S. and International beers. From what I noticed, most of their inventory selection is well reviewed beer so you really can't go too wrong. I picked up some Rising Tide, Maine Beer Co., Birra Del Borgo, and a few Mikkellers. Prices seemed on-par with other establishments, with the Maine offerings understandably lower in price than outside the state (cheapest Peeper and Zoe's I saw).

When I'm in the area again I'll be stopping in. Hopefully the open space has been converted into more shelves, as other BA's have requested :)

Have not heard of this place before and I was operating under an assumption that there's nothing beer-worthy around Ebenezer's. The selection was comparable to Tully's, which many BA users consider the place to visit while in Maine. Plenty Belgians/other Euros that you won't see in Mass. or NH(duh), all of Maine's usual suspects, Mikkeler, Dieu de Ciel, etc etc. Option to make a six pack, but of out a limited number of singles. So a really good place to either stock up for home, for a canoing trip or for a night of camping(which is what I did). The lady running the counter admitted that she wasn't a beer drinker, but showed some really good knowledge when recommending stuff or telling us what a lot of people ask for, etc. I recommend not missing this place!

Made my initial stop into The Good Beer Store today after following their progress on facebook.

As the other posters have mentioned, there is a ton of space waiting to be taken up with extra shelving. I'm excited to see what this place will become. One of the owners, Bob, chatted me up and was EXTREMELY friendly, and knowledgeable as well. He's eager to get the business, and just talk beer. Super nice guy.

Nice selection of just about anything you can hope to get in Maine in bottles. DFH, Victory, Weyerbacher, Rogue, Sebago, Maine Beer Co., Smuttynose, Peak Organic, etc. Looked like lots of Belgians too, however, I'm not a connoisseur. Next time in I'll ask about the lambics.

There are a couple walls of shelving holding room temp. large formats and four packs, and a set of coolers where you can build your own six pack. All the singles are clearly marked. You could spend a fun afternoon mixing and matching.

I wasn't making a huge purchase today, but I grabbed a couple rogues, and a smutty big beer. At the check out they gave me a Smuttynose pint glass, just for the heck of it. They had some left over from a tasting last night.

Overall, looks very nice inside, clean, friendly & knowledgeable service, and it looks like they are excited to host a lot of tastings.

Anyone headed to Ebenezers, or in the area otherwise, should definitely stop in.

Note: Bring cash, they don't take cards, however, there is an ATM on-site.

Some very smart people decided to open the Good Beer Store, Inc. in Fryburg, Me;)

Right over the border from New Hampshire and on one of the main routes to get to Ebenezer's in Lovell, the GBS is located in a prime location to draw beer lovers from North Conway and beyond.

The store is located is in a small, but tastefully done grouping of businesses just off the road. Signage is well done as 05Harley and I were making our way up to Ebs and we both noticed the sign without even knowing this place existed.

Inside the spacious location numerous wooden shelving units and a four or five door refrigerated unit tastefully display some excellent beers such as Fantome Saison, various Weyebecher offerings, Triple Karmiliet, some Stillwater beers, Cadillac Mountain Stout, etc. The selection features some of the best beers available in Maine but not in NH. Between this and Glen Beverage a visit to the Eastern White Mountains will now yield one a choice of excellent brews. The store also offered a small selection of wines, chips and other foods.

The GBS has plenty of space to increase selection in the future based on demand and this a very good thing as if my first visit is any indication they will need to very soon.

Prices were certainly in line with Portland stores and will save many beer lovers from the area the expense of making that trek.

We chatted with one of the owners who was both friendly and obviously enjoying his wise decision to open the GBS. This will be a must stop on the way to Ebs for now on and I encourage anyone who loves good beer to check out the offerings of the GBS.

Nice to see this place has already been added to the database.

So far I've been in there 3 times since they opened at the beginning of the month. Each time the selection has been better than the last. Today yielded me a bottle of Fantome which I'm looking forward to having this weekend.

Staff seems friendly, though I haven't chatted with any of them too much so far. A couple of the owners seem fairly knowledgeable at least. Selection is by far the best you are going to find in the area for any beer store. Located about a mile from the New Hampshire state line in Maine helps, since Maine gets much better distribution than NH. Shelves are mixed between American craft and imports, leaning probably a bit more to imports with many of the offerings imported by Shelton Bros.

Overall, I'm really excited to have a new beer store on the Maine side of the state line in the Mt. Washington Valley. Hopefully business treats them well and they can continue to grow. As it is right now, the store has a lot of empty floor space where they could add more shelves for more BEER, but I think they had the right idea to start small. Anyone vacationing in the area (or making a trip to Ebenezers) should definitely check this place out.

Note: They do not accept credit/debit cards so bring cash unless you want to pay the fees to use the ATM on-sight.
