The Leaning Barn is named after the Old Tate Barn on Idaho 55 on the way from Boise to McCall, the one that after every winter seems a little bit closer to falling over, but still hasn’t. The Leaning Barn is our take on a Belgian Saison, a style that was traditionally brewed in the spring to last through the hot summer months. The beer is light and refreshing, but packs a flavorful punch. The Leaning Barn has strong citrusy aromas of lemon and orange with some sublte spicy notes in the background. It finishes dry with a slightly tart bite to finish it off. It will be your best companion on a patio as the Idaho heat starts to rise this summer.

Draft tonight at PreFunk... Pours slightly hazy pale golden... long lasting white head... A little clovey with some lemon/orange estery notes... Very drinkable ... Sorta a training wheels saison but definitely hits the spot in the summer months.

I ordered tis blind off of the menu, my guess would have been a wheat ale. Quite surprised to see it listed as a saison ( I would have given it higher marks in the wheat ale category). Fairly bland for saison, none of the fruitiness one would expect. Hazy straw color with thin white head, faint wheat/grain aroma and taste.

appearance: Orange color with a haze through out it. The cloud gives you that belgium feel that is for sure.

Smell- Lemon and Honey mixed with hops. The lemon is strong but yet refreshing.

Taste: I could really taste the honey in this beer along with the wheat. There is a fruity hop mixed through out it. The aftertaste is lemon/lime almost. I would like to try this beer with a lemon wedge or orange peel laided arcross the the top of the head.

Mouthfeel is smooth and tasty. A slight biter bite at the end but nothing to scare you away.

Overall this was a nice beer. I would drink it again. It was my faviorite beer they had on tap tonight.
