Not completely sure about the style, here. It might be a bit hoppy for an ESB, but it seems like the closest style.

Pours a hazy mahogany with a thick foamy head, khaki-colored. I'm barely able to see through the glass. It looks rich and heavy for the abv.

Lots of American hop notes in the aroma - pine, grapefruit rind, wildflowers, even a bit of tropical fruit. There's some toastier malt notes in there - biscuity with some caramel and brown sugar.

The taste starts sweet with English malt notes - caramel, sugary bread - but gets increasingly bitter and hoppy. There's an interesting chalky note, possible from the water. The finish is hoppy and a bit blandly bitter. There's also an unfortunate wateriness to the beer. It kinda washes out in the middle.

Carbonation is just a bit less than average, but it would probably benefit by an even gentler feel. The hoppy finish is a bit harsh for me.

Good beer and drinks bigger than its abv, but it ends up tasting kinda like any of a number of hoppy American Ambers with a bit more English character.
