On tap at St. Andrews Brewing Co.
This "amber ale" is, as the bartendress says, actually a red IPA.
More resiny hops on the nose than anything else, but some hints of toffee as well. Hops give too much suggestion of gym clothes.
Clear, but very dark red-brown, with a fine head and excellent lacing.
The flavor is a nicely balanced mix, given IPA status, of hops and malts. Moderately high bitterness. Lingering flavor of a moderately complex blend of hops.

O: should appeal to fans of black IPAs and others.

A: Dark brown/mahogny with reddsih notes. Medium light mocca, medium lasting head. Medium lacing.

S: Rich malty character - toffee, caramel, some melanoidin notes and a little bit nutty. Some earthy notes in the background. The maltiness is backed up with floral and tropical fruit (mainly mango) hops. The aroma of red fruits (strawberries), apples, smooth citrus and little bit pines is also noticable. This mixture gives this beer quite interesting aroma.

T: At first you can taste maltiness - caramel, brown sugar, dry grains. The bitterness is light medium to medium - well hidden with quite big malts injection. Medium flavor of grassy, piney and grapefruit hops, which gives it mentioned above bitter character are also present. In taste tropical fruits and red fruits play second role. After taste is quite long bitter.

M: Medium body. Semi dry. Sticky texture. Medium carbonation. Finish is dry bitter.

O: Godd combination of wide variety of malts and hops, which are nearly very good balanced. Quite drinkable and refreshing. Another decent Buxton beer.

Doc Martin Cherry Red slighly cloudy body, yes I did pour carefully. with a mm slightly off white microscopic bubbled head

Just a big whiff of red liquorice with the fruity hops behind it.

Pretty similar taste to aroma the candy taste stays ahead of the grapefruit aspects and never goes beyond slightly sweet and nicely capped with a bitter finish to remind you this is a Brit Brew.

heavy Mouthfeel but pitch perfect carbonation.

This is a solid if slightly heavy going brew
packed full of flavour and high delightful.

Cloudy amber with good head/lacing.

Nose is honeycomb, scorched malt, toffee apple.

Taste is more hoppy apple. Tea-ish hops.

Mouthfeel is sweet and bitter. Interestingly non-abrasive carbonation, unlike many American takes. Strongly bittered though.

Enjoyable beer.
