This is mildly hoppy, in comparison to west coast productions. Seems very east coast in its execution. That earthiness that I've seen from Weyerbacher with Double Simcoe and similar productions. Ya know what I mean? There is a good bit of pine and resin as well. The flavor profile has definitely gotten better as time has gone on. Carbonation seems fairly biting. Aggressive small bubbles just nibbling away at my tongue. Anyways. This is definitely an east coast hopped production. I can appreciate it. Though only after it has opened up a bit.

-This was my consolation prize for the journeyman ipa kicking on me. Growler.

A: Ice tea coloring pour has a frumpy oatmeal tinted head that stands proudly at 2 fingers for a good duration. Extremely soft carbonation with only sporadic instances of bubble release from the bottom of the etched vessel. Lacing was adequate, about 50-60% coverage staining the glass.

S: Nose was sweet and fruity, mangos, guava with some fresh grapefruit. Nice level of aromatic presence. Freshly squeezed lemons with some soft herbal tea notes about.

T: Hops are blended well on the flavor here, didn’t seem as dominant as what the nose presented, a bit softer but well mannered and polished. Fruity hops pear-mango combination with a freshly toasted sense of speciality grains. Sweet grain juice with a light dry farewell and some fresh lemony notes (Amarillo?). Hops control the front of the drink, the malt closes things out.

M: Soft crackling of carbonation, light bodied with a slick textured. Lemony dry toasted finish of the tongue.

O: Overall a softly harmonic and balanced flavor of hops and grains. Easy to put away and a solid recommendation. Nice to see things mixed up a bit with the hops instead of the usual west coast offering. Very drinkable.
